I have heard Mike Kennedy from Elon University is interested. 4 regionals in the last 5 years and 3 straight as well as 3 SoCon championships the last 5 years. He was also Team USA pitching coach last year. This would be an interesting hire.
Don't know much about the quality of teams that Elon University plays or even what Division they play in but the bolded part of your message says a lot about who he might be able to recruit.

Elon university is a d1 school that is in the Southern Conference. That conference is usually 8th or 9th in rpi. Elon has only been d1 for 10 years after being d2 for a while. They are actually participating in the ga tech regional this weekend. They had 7 guys drafted last year and looks like they will have at least 5 drafted this year.

You need to talk to Coach Gilmore for us.

Spoke with him today as a matter of fact, not about the OSU job though.:)

Would love that...Gilmore recruits nationally (2 Ohio kids on roster--1 a starter) at a place where you would never guess it could happen. Coastal is growing every year and is a beautiful place, but for them to be in the Top 10 nationally is amazing. He is also known as one the top hitting instructors in the nation.

My suggestion, although a tremendous long shot, is Frank Kremblas Jr.
Frank is currently a minor league manager with Indianapolis Indians. He played high school baseball at Canal Winchester. I was an assistant baseball coach with that team when he went to high school. His brother was a catcher for Canal Winchester and the Ohio State Buckeyes a number of years ago. Both boys were starting HS quarterbacks and starred on the baseball diamond and also played basketball. His father (Frank Sr. ) was the quarterback under Woody and quarterbacked the 1957 National Championship team. All three of the Kremblas' were the most competitive athletes and people I have known as a group. I can not say enough about their baseball and sports smarts. I can not say enough about the character of the family from my perspective. Top notch in my book. I do not know if there is even any interest, but in my opinion it would be a perfect fit.

Interesting. Could he just be denying it since his team's season is not over yet and he doesn't want it to be a distraction?

That could very well be the case. Loser leaves town game with Irvine today, so a distraction is the last thing Stricklin and his team needs.

I guess all we can do now is wait...

Kent already down 5-0 in the 1st to UCI. Kent lost 15-1 to UCLA yesterday, so it's been a tough post season for the flashes thus far.
it must be true because the team is certainly distracted. Where was the poster who said that the Buckeyes would pay out big time money for a baseball coach and then they go out and get someone from the MAC. I know this guy has done well there but I would have liked to seen a bigger search and I don't think there was one. Maybe I'm wrong but we didn't even hear any names.
