Game Thread tOSU at Sparty - Sep 29, 3:30 ET, ABC

Im no coach by any means. My extent is playing it in high school and watching it on tv, and talking about it. lol. Im just armchair quarterbacking but there just is something that seems "stiff" about our offense right now.

Remember when Troy just ran loose when he played and the team just went with what they got. They weren't worried much about the numbers except the ones on the scoreboard. They just had fun making plays. I feel liek we had that sort of style and swagger against Miami this year, and then after that the team got too serious.

I watch games like Auburn-LSU and scUM- Notre Dame and though there are mistakes they just friggin play the game with high excitement. Its like the Buckeyes have been hosting a black tie party whereas other venues are throwing raves. Games have been boring (and not in the "OMG were up 70-0 boring), just flat and blah.

No, but he did say that the team could use a good "soul cleansing", which meant getting their ass kicked.

So, in a way it could be easy read as loosing.

It could also be seen as someone who sees this team in need of a serious wake up call and it ties directly into the greatest coach this university ever had for it's football team.

Woody knew what it took back then. This team doesn't yet.

This game is going to be REALLY close.

I like our chances with Miller at QB late in a game, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Here's to hoping the D continues to work on pursuit angles and tackling this week.

Hard to buy that one, in its original context bud. lol, sorry.

"Nothing cleanses the soul like getting your ass kicked. The team is in need of a good soul cleansing"

Soul Cleansing = ass kicking

Ass kicking = loosing.

I dont think Ill ever say "wow, Im so glad the Bucks got their asses kicked today. Its great for them."

While I dont agree in a loss, I do agree that a wake up call is needed in a close-game win for the Bucks.

Anyone ever been to East Lansing for a game? I have convinced the wife we should make the journey from Chicago, however the hotel situation is dire. Any advice?

I have made the trip. The fans are far better to deal with than most B1G schools but the hotel choices are slim. Good luck.

Based on what I've seen in the first 4 games, I kinda think they were actually just some tune-ups for the start of the B1G season. I think we will see much more of the offense that we saw during the Miami (OH) game, which is some misdirection, along with BM running the ball. Maybe not as much as there was in that game, but more than we have seen the last 2 games.

I think Herman is holding back till B10 season. We scored 21 points in 6 minutes Saturday. On those drives we ran curl routes and threw to the TE. They held Braxton back and worked Hall back into the offense easy. We should have scored 36.

BTW we scored more points against Cal than the vaunted USC offense did. I think we are gonna unleash the offense this week. IMO they used the 1st 4 weeks to prepare for the B10.

IMO the TE's and backs are gonna be thrown to 10 times this weekend. I expect more slants, curl routes, drags routes, and wheelroutes. Bracton is better rolling out as well. When they roll him out and he throw intermediate routes we move the ball with ease.

1st team to 17 wins.
