first quarter done on my rewatch.
OL really is struggling.
i liked seeing marshall get the ball a couple of times.
dontre looks like a man. kyrie irving needs to work out with dontre next off season and pick up some gym tips or time or whatever.

really nice goal line defense on our part.
great effort by the navy back to touch that pylon.
couldn't have hit much less of the pylon or paint to break the plane than that.

It seemed that with each subsequent replay, it took longer and longer for that pylon to fall over. Like the 7 or 10 pin teetering when you're bowling.

... and Navy scored once and got a 60 yard run where Noah Spence would have been. He would have made a difference.

The even bigger "hose job" was about 10 minutes to go in the 3rd period; it was 3rd and 4 at the Navy 48. Ezekiel Elliott goes for a first down on on his back over a defender (which should have been a first down). They knock the ball lose after he is on the ground and spot it back at the 45; now it is 4th and 1, and we don't convert. Hindsight is 20/20, needless to say, Meyer should have called TO and asked for a review.
I believe that the bad breaks/calls eventually even out; maybe all the questionable calls will actually go our way vs Va Tech.
one thing i have learned in my 30+ years of watching THE Ohio State University play football: questionable calls will NEVER go the Buckeyes' way. EVER.

General rule for me is: don't run the same offense as the other team. If Navy runs the option pitch EVERY play, then NEVER run it when you are playing them. Their defense gets a lot of practice defending it.

Did any of you see the Navy game in 2009?, and did they run same triple option then? My thinking was that Navy respected our defensive front four so much, that the only way to beat us was being successful going outside. They killed us on that move, in the 1st half. I did not see much passing from Navy and I wondered about that.

Exactly, and I think that it is equally nice that JT really did not show much this game so as to allow for Herman to call his number a bit more against VT.

JT's opening stanza was impressive for a first-time QB. I would be very surprised if he doesn't open up the secondary with an early long throw and if he is not more mobile next week.
