tOSU at Navy (M&T Bank Stadium), Aug 30th @ 12pm ET, CBS Sports Network

A lot of explosive young skill players, as everyone has mentioned. Really excited to see them develop. I would love to have seen them with Braxton this year. That would have been an offense that is hard to decide what to do against. J.T. did a solid job today, but he's obviously not Braxton at this point.

The offensive line is troubling, and Braxton could have made them better this year too.

Interesting quotes from the coach:

''The best thing about this game,'' Meyer said, ''is we won it and it's in our rearview mirror.''

''I thought J.T. did OK,'' Meyer said. ''He was good. I never felt he was rattled.''

'We wanted to open it up a little bit more in the first half but we didn't. It wasn't because of him; it was because of our offensive line,'' Meyer said. ''There's a standard set for offensive line play for many, many years. It didn't resemble an offensive line at Ohio State the first two quarters.''

Really surprised Lee isn't getting more praise. I'm not saying he will be another Shazier but does anyone remember his early games? Signs of brilliance mixed with rookie type mistakes. THAT really stands out to me when comparing the two. I think when you watch this game again you will be very impressed with Lee. Think about our LB depth and what we really needed out of him. I think we got that today and I for one am very excited about his future. Kid sure looks like he has the "it" factor to me. No wonder we heard so much about him going back to spring. Big time motor and a see ball get ball attitude. He is one of the less heralded guys Urb has recruited and his first start was against a tricky/GOOD team like Navy. I'm just floored he isn't getting more props so far.

1. Just glad to be done with the bizarre Navy offense. Super huge distraction that takes away from preparation that counts against other teams. Now onto real football, with the real MLB lining up as a MLB.

2. JT2 (JT the second) was awesome. The stats don't lie. No fumbles. Yeah, made a mistake in an interception, but threw twice as many TDs as interceptions.

3. Dunn would have a right to be upset that he was talked into coming to tOSU because his running style would work better in a different offense.

On that INT, it was almost like he surprised himself by pulling off the spin move so well. He knew after that move time was running out to get rid of the ball, and just made a bad play into double coverage. Still liked the spin move though.

I agree. Have to watch again but Lee seems to have all the unteachable attributes of great LB's. He will learn position, leverage, recognition, etc. Great start I thought.

Navy was preparing for Ohio State for 8 months!

"It's hard because our guys have invested so much, these guys have worked their butts off for eight months, everything we've done this off-season has pointed toward this game, we didn't think about Temple or anybody else, all of our focus was on Ohio State," Niumatalolo said. "I was proud of our guys for three quarters, I thought they were fighting their butts off, but we didn't finish.

Like to know where McMillan was. Thought he'd at least get a little time in there with the run heavy offense we were playing. Thought Grant had his best game as a Buckeye - really attacked most of the game which is definitely his strength.

That's somewhat of a worry of mine for VA Tech. Their first game was against a nobody, so while we had to gameplan like crazy to play navy, they could probably spend more time on us.
