Hell of a game called by Coach Herman tonight...stuck to our strengths while giving different looks and certainly was not predictable. The only real predictable play is when we motion Heureman over and run the QB counter. I call it every time in the empty set (as does everyone, I am not a genius here) but I am ok with it because we execute every damn time and get the 1st down. You can tell we practice that play a TON, no other way it works like that when the entire stadium knows it is coming. Very good job coach.

Playcalling and gameplanning get all of the attention with this guy. People seem to forget that he is also the QB coach. In three months' time he got a redshirt freshman coming off a torn ACL ready to play at a championship level in this game, on the road in November against the reigning B1G and Rose Bowl champs.

Time for more people to start showing some respect for the job he has been doing.

Against Michigan State; if someone told who the Ohio State defense would give up 536 yards, special teams would get no field goals, and Ohio State would lose the turnover battle 2-0; who would you say would win the game?

Re: Jim Bollman - Co-Offensive Coordinator at MSU

Needless to say the Ohio State offense played "lights out". Tom Herman had a hell of a game plan last night and definitely out performed his counterpart at Michigan State. MSU even thought so too (see below).

MSU Defensive Coordinator Pat Narduzzi Updates
+ "They (OSU) came in looking for revenge and they got it."

+ "I felt like we (MSU coaching staff) were a step behind them (OSU coaching staff) all night."

+ "He (J.T. Barrett) made about every shot he could. I have a lot of respect for him."

We've got to keep the band together one more season. Hopefully, everyone realizes that their prospects will be even better after a 2015 championship run. We, and the rest of the country, are only just now seeing Herman's work because he's got someone who can run the system. Slap two years of that together and you should be able to do better than Illinois, Memphis...

Hope some assistants consider the current Illinois HC' words on the matter:

“We don’t have enough time” to detail the impact, Beckman said. “Jim Tressel meant the world to me. I respect that year and a half (the 2005 and ’06 seasons) — sometimes I kick myself in the butt for not staying a little bit longer to continue to learn.”

Not saying they should never take a HC job, just hope they realize that however far Ohio State goes this year... it was a rebuilding year and 2015/16 is a chance to get some trophies and experience that they won't have for awhile if they leave. Just not going to get the same opportunities, experience, recruiting material, etc. at a Mid Major or bottom feeder.

I put something about this in Coach Ed's thread but I think TH will only leave after this year for a big school. Have a hard time seeing him leave after this year for a small/medium size school. To much to gain by staying one more year. If the Bucks win it all or it's a big school like FLA then it changes things. Otherwise I bet he comes back next year.
