Tom Herman (Former Head Coach FAU Owls)

Him and Meyer have a hell of coaching job in front of them in preparing Cardale for Wisconsin in one week. If they succeed coaches of the year no matter what the vote maybe.
Hoping Tom Herman uses the lack of experience as a positive.

This is a chance where teams don't have a lot of film on CJ. Like a rookie pitcher coming in with no scouting report. Tom Herman can open up the playbook anyway he wants, though, I also like the fact that this system is QB friendly. Miller has done it, Guiton has done it, Barrett has done it. A lot of the same plays are going to be run because the QB's have similar skill sets- athletic with big arms that can take reigns in a power-spread style. They just need to be executed now in live action.

But there's plenty of chances to throw a curve now.

He is highly over rated. He'll need at least another ten years at Ohio State before he's ready for the next level... Congratulations on a well-deserved reward.

FWIW, Kirby Smart won the award five years ago and still seems to be happily ensconced as the Bama DC for $1.3M/per...

edit: wow, looking back there are a few former winners still in the same coordinator roles -- Bud Foster, John Chavis, Bob Diaco, Pat Narduzzi -- so it's not an automatic that these guys make the jump right away after winning.

Kirby could have an HC job but he's pretty much told everyone he wants the Bama job once satan leaves or retires ...Unfortunately I don't think Herman will wait

After the 2nd half of the season he absolutely earned it not only with his great play calling, but also with his ability to get two QBs that have hardly had any playing time here perform at such a high level. Oh and he also has incorporated other playmakers when Dontre went down as well. Hats off to him. Obviously I would love to keep him here another year but would understand if he gets a decent job offer and takes it. On the plus side, Nebraska and Florida already reached for their guys.
