Has anyone in the history of sports garnered this much attention for a concussion?

I remember a lot of coverage for Steve Young and Troy Aikman at the end of their careers, but that was beyond ridiculous and made that pale in comparison. Simple math really...e!spn +SEC + their need to create a messiah within their conference of choice = wall to wall coverage. I'm honestly shocked we didn't get updates of what kind of jello he was having with lunch.

I think he's a good kid and an amazing player, but just a mention of his name nauseates me.

While I agree that McCoy should have won it last year, this year I believe he has 10 TD passes and 6 picks after tonight's game - hardly Heisman worthy numbers so far.

Heisman isn't still all about numbers - McCoy is quite simply the biggest assest to his team and arugably one of the most vital players in the country to a teams success.

On top of the fact he's a dynamic passer and very capable rusher.

A combination Tebow has tons of and not the other.

Does Tebow deserve Heisman mention?

Maybe even to think it, given how great he has been for his team, his sport and his faith. But the truth is, Tim Tebow isn't deserving of all this Heisman talk. Not this year, anyway. Not when he's having an ordinary season on a team that hasn't lived up to expectations.
Miami Herald

While I happen to agree with the main point of the article (Alabama's Ingram would have my vote), the last point just sticks in my craw. They haven't met expectations? Aren't they undefeated? The sporting press obsession with blowouts is annoying as fuck.
