TheBuffalo Bills have started nine different quarterbacks since Jim Kelly retired -- and the Hall of Famer says a key to a return to greatness for the franchise begins under center, USA Today reported.
Kelly, who wants to help the team return to greatness and assure its long-term future remains in Buffalo, says that quarterback could be Florida's Tim Tebow, according to the report.
"Whether it's Tim Tebow, whether they'll have a shot at him when draft time comes ... you have to look at the top three quarterbacks in the draft, really study them. And you look for a guy with good character, good leadership ability and good arm strength -- and a guy who doesn't come from California," Kelly said, according to the report.
Quarterbacks from the Golden State haven't done well of late on the shores of Lake Erie, Kelly said, according to the report. Rob Johnson went 4-7 from 1998-2001; former first-round draft pick J.P. Losman didn't pan out and landed in the UFL after losing the starting job to Trent Edwards; and Edwards was benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick last week by interim coach Perry Fewell.

I love Jim Kelly but......shoot me in the face if this happens.

I'll be in the minority on this... I think a lot of us need to cut this kid a break to be honest. Sure he's fiery, is praised non stop, and is constantly motivating his team but this is a guy who does it the right way.

Played all four years, didn't complain, never got in trouble, always helped out his team, loves his university, and truthfully put his faith #1. He didn't do it for the money or the praise and if he was a buckeye and we saw that scene of emotion we'd be saying "geez that makes me sad to see him go out like that". I don't get the harrassement of Tebow I really don't because he's everything you could possibly want in a player. Give the kid a break he's truely a wonderful guy and him showing his emotions truely shows how much he cares for this level of football.

I for one am going to miss him in the college game (I won't miss our chances at winning a title being greater tho), and wish he could've went out on top.

Luckily he'll have his shot at redemption against sUCk.

Do you root for Duke?

They are pretty universally loathed the same way Tebow is and you can say all the same things about their program minus the over the top religious stuff. Their players actually go to school, usually don't in trouble and are by and large the kind of kids you want your daughter to bring home.

But 99.9% of us hate fucking Duke.

If people like Tebow fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't feel bad about my dislike in the least.

Whatever dude, I don't think people dislike him as a person, but the constant references to religion, media coverage and the comparisons to being the best collegiate athlete of all time is what gets people, like me, aggrevated. Just because he says "God bless" after every statement doesn't make him the best ever. I am not religious at all, so him saying that alone pisses me off.

i completely agree with you. i dont want to hear that TP cried after the psu game last year. atleast he wasnt doing it out in the open right on the edge of the sideline like superwoman was today. i mean seriously, sure the kid is a great role model, but being a buckeye fan, it sure feels good seeing something like this happen to him

well if him alone saying "god bless" pisses you off then thats really sad to be honest.... Because then I bet tons of stuff really pisses you off. It may be over the top to YOU, but to him it's not a show like you may think it is. Sure I'd have a problem with him too if it was some show, but it's how he is and how he lives his life.

As for Duke Jax.... haha I don't love duke but when Duke plays UNC I root for Duke. I also appreciate how Coach K runs that program. I never got why people disliked Reddick (heard he was conceited tho, so maybe it was a bit more warranted) so much also so just call me a fan who hates seeing kids critized especially ones that really haven't done any wrong.

I mean don't get me wrong I'm not saying "how dare you!" but I just don't get the constant bashing by just not a few of us but just a lot of people in general.

My point exactly right here.... "it feels good to see somethign like this happen to him".

It's just the overall thought that gets me here... AHHH it feels good to see someone, who's overall a great human being, suffer or hurt.

It's not Mike Hart were talking about here neither or I'd be smiling just a bit too but it's not. It's not like he was pouring down tears neither.
