hate me and knock on me all you want, but I kinda like the guy, and am rooting for the Broncos through the playoffs

I won't. People may hate me for it, but he is my favorite player in the NFL. Regardless of his faith, he is a breath of fresh air apart from all the thugs and showboats in the NFL. He has a passion on and off the field that is not paralleled. If people feel uncomfortable with his message, ask yourself why or just ignore it. I've followed Tebow since he was a junior in HS and loved watching him play the game...all other things aside, it is fun to watch someone that competitive who loves to play the game compete. I'll be rooting the Broncos as long as he is there.

I was rooting for him last week, but I can't root for him over Brady. But Tebow is what's right with today's professional athlete. No, he's not a great QB, but he makes those around him better and he's a quality leader. He's also a good role model, which is something you can't say with a lot of professional athletes these days.

For no other reason than that I knew it would make a lot of you guys happy to see this:

Don't worry, though, Tebow fans--it's not what it looks like.

He's just asking her for directions to Boys' Town.

It's about showboating and "look at me". JFC, players do the scalded monkey dance after every [censored]ing hit now.

And how is that any different than Tebow doing the "look at me pray" schtick. It's all narcissistic showboating.

I'd argue that the former, regardless of how shallow and crass, is just showmanship. Tebow's is worse because he really believes that God is taking his side in the game, and his sideline antics are meant to emphasize that line of thought.

That being said, my money is still on Brady Quinn being the first Broncos QB to get arrested for blowing a trucker at a rest stop.

 You make no sense whatsoever. You simply have no understanding of the culture he comes from, and since you do not, you attribute negative motives to him (that are not true btw) because of that deep unfamiliarity.

It is interesting that your biggest problem with him is that he is a devout and open Christian. Your loathing of his openly religious persona is palpable. I get that you don't buy into his beliefs - neither do I, really - but the fact that he wants to drop and pray at the drop of a hat is how he was raised. That really is not his "fault", as it were, or him saying "Look at me - I'm so better than you 'cause I'm all religious like!!!" like you think.

He thanks God for giving him the ability to make a play, and for giving him his opportunities. I have not read one article from one source where he says God is making his plays for him.

Jeeze, I'd hope the Supreme Being would be able to throw a tighter spiral.

I'm not saying it is...I hate fucking Tebow's holier than thou "Thank God for everything" attitude as much as anyone. My point was that there is way too much self-centered antics going on. The occasional celebration, if warranted by circumstances, is fine regradless of how over-dramatic it is...going ape shit after making a fairly routine tackle for loss or making a big hit despite giving up 30 yards on a play is shit that is just uncalled for.
