While Tebow's TD/INT ratio is good (11/2) he is a classic example of the QB getting too much blame for losses and, more importantly, too much credit for wins.

I disagree. He hasn't been blamed too much for losses yet. :p One of the reasons for his too much credit is (beside the Teboner Press) that he was given NO hope of being an NFL QB. From Kiper to the talking heads in his first three games last year, all you heard was what a bust he would be and what a mistake is was to sign him. So when the experts decree his guaranteed failure, the string of wins is bigger news than it would have been. Throw in Elway and his lack of happiness in Tim losing the first round Stanford QB pick derby - you get a pretty readable story.

He is completing a laughable 48.5% of his passes for a triple optionesque 117 yards per game. He has benefitted from an onside kick, a running back foolishly going out of bounds to stop the clock, and a couple of 60 yard field goals, among other things. Trading punches with Matt Moore and Caleb Hanie doesn't hurt, either.

Jake, the thing is, his stats are not "laughable". They are, ignoring the turn over stat, on par with almost all first year starting QBs, including many hall of famers. What was different was the amount of vitriol directed at Tim when his stats were like Elway, Manning, et al, when they started their first games in the NFL. He may not wind up a pro-bowler, but the fact that he has rookie type stats only means that he is a rookie, or at least a rookie in that he has not played a full season and has had only one pre-season camp of any meaningful legnth.

Enjoy the Teboners, but even Viagra wears off after 4 hours (or so I've heard). Barring significant improvement in actually being an NFL caliber passer, Tebow's magic carpet ride is destined to crash sooner, not later.

He has been improving his passing game, and is now looking downfield a little more, and instead of just taking off he is throwing a bit - and finding dump off guys better. One thing I will give him credit for is this: for a marked man, he has displayed an ability to avoid the pass rush. If they keep working on his delivery that bodes well for the future.

OK, just saw an interesting stat on ESPN. His qb rating for the first 51 minutes of games is 15. His rating for the last 9 minutes is 94.7.

Can't help but think about this crazy fuck.

Tebow released the following statement the other day regarding the Tebowing phenomenon.

To all of my fans and fellow Christians, I ask that you please refrain from using the word Tebowing or referencing the act of prayer to me on a personal level in any manner. I would also ask at this time to take down the websites promoting "Tebowing" as well as cease the sale and distribution of any "Tebowing" merchandise.

What I do is no different than what millions of Christians have done for the last two millennia. It is an act of humble contrition and genuflection before God. It is not "Tebowing." It is simply prayer...nothing more and nothing less. To personalize it in such a direct manner is crass, umseemly and unbecoming of the form of Christianity that I would like to both promote and represent. I would hope that the prayers of one man would not be twisted to publicize and elevate the exposure of that individual above the very act itself. Prayer before God should not be used to build a cult of personality around an individual.

Thank You and God Bless You,
Tim Tebow

Oh Wait, no he didn't.
