Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

So... To summarize. It's good for the sport to casual observing fans. To TRUE golf fans, it's the devil.

If the casual observing fan prefers to watch him snap at the gallery or watch NBC break down his swing for the ten billionth time or cut to an earlier interview with him or watch him stride down the fairway rather than watch Bubba Watson hit an approach shot or watch Rickie Fowler drain a 40 footer or watch Hunter Mahan attempt a birdie on the 18th to shoot 64 and take a two stroke league then, yes, that's what I'm saying.

I am not a Tiger fan at all, but I respect his ability. If he returns to even 80% as good as he was before the injury/marriage implosion, he is easily the best player on tour today. That being said, golf becomes more annoying to watch.

Tiger is to golf as Dale Jr. is to auto racing, which is to say that both receive a disproportionate amount of coverage from the media because they're what a lot of fans tune in to see. The difference of course being that Tiger actually earned his fame and wins from time to time.

But I can understand how that is annoying to the golf purist. There are some really talented golfers out there now that deserve some attention.

If Tiger is at his best there is no one close ..Call me when someone gets to 10 majors and I might reconsider. In Golf there are no teamates.Tiger has all his wins by himself..coaches and caddies are just by standers ..he's the one who hit every shot..if you don't like him fine but you cannot deny his talent.

Yes, according to TMZ, Elin Nordegren bought a $12 million home in North Palm Beach, Fla., but didn't like it, and has plowed the whole thing.

The house, which had six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, is now just rubble, with no word yet on what is going to replace the beautiful building you see above, but I guess when you have nine figures in the bank, it doesn't really matter what you want.
Our company manages this HOA. The residents there are not happy with Tiger's ex right now to say it mildly. This is a neighborhood with many old Florida style mansions, and the one she demolished was one of the originals in the area.

EDIT: What the article doesn't say is that she is building a new house on the property, and from what I hear it will look very much like the original. I guess she wanted to redo the layout so drastically that this was the easiest and fastest way. EDIT2: Just found out that the house had a pretty bad termite and bug problem as well.

Yeah, so, I read that article, and, um...as far as I'm concerned she can do whatever the fuck she wants!

Sure Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, and Arnold Palmer aren't in the field this week in Abu Dhabi, but Tiger's swing is looking really good and is tied for first against a field with 6 of the top-10 players in it.

Go Eldrick!

Woods, just a bit off with his tee shots, was unable to put on the necessary pressure over the closing holes. He had said Saturday he needed to put together a solid round, that even par would not do it.

He has vastly improved from where he was a year ago, but he still isn't the Tiger of old. I don't think he will ever close like he did in the prime of his career.

I understand his frustration, though, as I too suffer from the same problems he mentioned in his post round interview...you just never know when that 320 3-wood is going to show up, or the 180 yard 8-iron. :tongue2:

Tiger is in the hunt at Pebble. He is 4 back of the leader. As much as I do not like Tiger, I would love to see him make a run tomorrow.

I think the whole experience has humbled him a bit, and he is a better person now.
