Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

Which tournament did he win 2 weeks ago?

And you're posting in a golf thread, but don't know that how the pro-am standings are separate from the regular pro scores at Pebble Beach?

But after seeing the questions you post in the football threads, I shouldn't be surprised.

Let's ban him again for his stupidity!

Back to debating whether we should admire Tiger for his golf talent, or cheer for his rivals so he doesn't catch Jack, or just because he's a jerk.

I can understand why he isn't universally loved but for me personally I don't care about all that. The majority of big time athletes aren't the most likeable critters that ever walked from primordial ooze. If we only rooted for the good guys we'd all be constrained to being Freddy Funk fans.

For me, golf tournaments are more compelling when Tiger is in the hunt, right wrong or indifferent.

I'd prefer he never catch Jack but even if he does it won't stop anyone from arguing Jacks case as the greatest ever so why worry about it?

Someone said today you have Tiger and Phil paired up. That's two world class players, two ego maniacal jerks, two guys that absolutely HATE each other going at it head to head. It's much more compelling to watch than the nameless rabble of teenage/male model/Australian/Euro types that have failed so miserably to fill the void of Tigers absence.

I was anti-Tiger prior to his so called "fall from grace", but not because of him. I even felt a bit guilty about it at times, rooting against him just because people/media act like idiots over him. I thought he was amazingly humble for as successful as he was at the time.

Then we learned who he really was, and my guilt went away. I still think it's pathetic how some "fans" and media fawn over him. The fact that he's also a jerk is just the icing on the cake.

Go field!

I didn't know Phil had that type of a reputation.
