Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

Never wanted Tiger to catch Jack, never got on the Tiger bandwagon, so here is rooting for the field tomorrow.

I can totally see where you are coming from. But for me personally, I wont watch unless Tiger is playing. FACT

I won't watch unless Tiger is in a position to come up short, but close enough for the jock sniffers in the gallery to be into it. FACT

I assumed the PGA shut down for the last two or three years, because I haven't heard anything about until the tourny Tiger won 2 weeks ago and now this

:)

Which tournament did he win 2 weeks ago?

And you're posting in a golf thread, but don't know that how the pro-am standings are separate from the regular pro scores at Pebble Beach?

But after seeing the questions you post in the football threads, I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm a big golf fan but one thing I have never figured out, does the lowest score win?

I personally enjoyed watching golf sans Tiger. It gave me an opportunity to watch some of the other talent: Johnson, Watney, Watson, Simpson, Fowler, McIlroy, etc. Watching Tiger in his prime was a treat. The second greatest golfer of all-time only comes around so often. Now, he is no more impressive than the other guys out there actually winning events. Playing the game as often as I do, I have a great appreciation for the difficulty of the game. As such, I enjoy watching people who can consistently play to the level that PGA pros play to each week. I don't need Tiger and the circus that ensues when he plays in an event to enjoy the coverage.

just shows how little PGA news there is then, because the two months since he won the Chevron felt like two weeks. My bad.

I consider this a Tiger thread, not a golf thread. But I'll be sure to brush up on the rules before I play in my next Pro Am.......

The PGA and golf in general owe a great debt to Tiger. He brought the casual fan to the game and they were able to market it to everyone. Golf took off when Tiger came on to the tour.

His fall from grace, along with a bad economy have contributed to golf trending down a little over the last few years.

I enjoy watching greatness and when Tiger was on he was in the team picture for best ever. I, for one, hope that he has a few wins left in him and I also want to see some of these young guys step up. Particularly Dustin Johnson. I don't know that I've ever seen a guy more physically gifted than him swing a club.

Looking forward to some great golf today. And looking forward to consistently shooting in the 90s (with some 110s sprinkled in there) come spring!!!!!!!!!

[JaxBuck] In the same way, when you post in a TSUN thread, considering it a TSUN thread and not a college football thread explains the questions you ask because of your lack of knowledge about college football in general. [/JaxBuck]

Sorry folks, couldn't resist. Back to debating whether we should admire Tiger for his golf talent, or cheer for his rivals so he doesn't catch Jack, or just because he's a jerk.
