Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

Anyone who has gone through marital difficulties has an inkling of the demons that this man is fighting.

I am not surprised by his withdrawal and, at the risk of joining a peanut gallery, I think it derives from more than a sore back.

He has been playing terribly the last seven rounds of golf, including this unfinished round. This is a game of concentration and there is so much to impact on his. I hope that he can get his personal life right and that he and his family can find some peace.

It's interesting to me that so many people connected to Tiger have said that it doesn't matter what kind of man Tiger is, that his game and accomplishments are what matter instead. On the other hand, Haney's sole concern with Tiger Woods was his game and his accomplishments, and he apparently has decided that he can't associate himself with Tiger because of the kind of man he is. Good for Hank Haney.

I don't think one can trust "radaronline" for accurate insights as to Haney's motivations.

Haney may or may not have left Woods's employ for moral reasons. We may or may not find out eventually. Meanwhile, this blog post means nothing.

Hank Haney was on radio in Atlanta yesterday, and while he wouldn't come out and say it was for moral reasons, he got choked up for a moment when they asked if it was a moral issue.

To paraphrase..."I was shocked. Maybe I'm dumb, or maybe I'm the most naive person in the world, but I had no idea. And the reason I probably had no idea, is Tiger knows I would have said something."

There was a lot of emotion when he said this too. He's taking a higher ground and not straight calling it what it is. But I think the off-course issues had a hige reason in this break-up.

I'm amazed at how many in the media aren't questioning his so-called "injury" Neck strain? Uh, sure. I'm sure if you did an MRI on the top 100 players you'd see some abnormalities due to repetitive use during the season.

It's a BS injury.

Or it isn't. He has one of the most violent golf swings in the game. Analysts have been saying for years, at some point he's going to have to restructure his swing because the torque he puts on his body can't be sustained into his later years.

The torn knee, achilles tear, and now the neck seem like plausible injries due to his swing, IMO.

Well the others were legit...I"m mainly thinking that Tigers and others have "strains" all the time. He's playing it up b/c he really doesn't want to talk about anything else.

I'm glad you have access to the MRIs.

I'm no longer a Tiger fan, but the moronic comments that some people feel entitled to make with absolutely no basis - they're ridiculous. None of us posting here has any idea what degree of pain and motion restriction Tiger is dealing with, or whether he has any at all.
