Tiger Woods (Offical Thread)

The Masters is supposed to be the most prestigious event in golf. I hate that Tiger's return will make a circus out of it. While the security at the event will be high and the distractions at Augusta National limited, we, the viewers will now be stuck watching non-stop, TMZish coverage of Tiger's "transgressions" and his "return to golf." I was actualy enjoying watching some other golfers play.

With any luck, Tiger misses the cut. With a lot of luck, Tiger never wins another major and Jack retains his title as the winner of the most majors in golf history.

The secret to beating Tiger is in the lunch you carry in your bag. It's a head trip. Fish makes you smarter.

Dana horse-faced-scUMmer Jacobson actually said "today is arguably the biggest day in golf history" on ESPN. This is where we are now, it's the TMZ generation. :roll1::lol:

All I can say is wow sounds like overkill to me....

Tiger Woods returns to golf in Augusta... with an army of 90 bodyguards | Mail Online

Tiger Woods will be guarded by a ?ring of steel? of 90 private bodyguards ? including former FBI and Secret Service agents ? as well as armed deputies on his return to golf at the Masters tournament this week.
The unprecedented security is in place because of fears he may be confronted by one of his 15 alleged mistresses.
The bodyguards are thought to have been given photos of his alleged lovers, including porn star Joslyn James who has threatened to picket the tournament with a group of friends with megaphones.

People must just chill. He has respect for the game now. There is no way that any of this could present a distraction for the other players...

I watched the press conference. It was rather uneventful, but it went well from Tiger's standpoint.

He stated that he's never taken PEDs, and said that he saw Dr. Galea (who's under investigation for bringing HGH acorss the Canada-USA border) for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, where his own blood was removed, spun, and then injected back into his knee area to help heal it after ACL surgery. He also said that he had a torn Achilles tendon at the end of 2008 and throughout part of the 2009 season.

Elin won't be at Augusta this week, he apologized to his peers, thanked the fans, got tight-lipped when asked about the night of the Thanksgiving accident, and said he was glad to be back.

He also said he needs to be a better person, be nicer to fans, control his outbursts on the course (which might also limit his on-course celebrating).

Back to Buddhism, meditation, therapy is on ongoing process, blah, blah, blah.

It's time to move on and just talk about golf.

What's the point of that bootleg?

Besides obsessively propagating this media nonsense...

...in about ten minutes here Tiger will be back on the links, playing in the most prestigious of all golfing events and will be focusing entirely on his game. It's partly the fault of the idiots that provide hits to the TMZ like masses that things like this carry as far as they do.

There have been very few individuals who have been under such public scrutiny and dealt with a personal failure as well as Tiger has. It makes me wonder if we don't deal with his nearing of perfection on the golf course as an analogy for his life. It seems to be quite unfair for anyone to condemn him in any way at this point.

The man is the best active golfer in the world and with the exception of the Golden Bear, the best golfer in the history of the sport. Let's focus on that aspect of his persona shall we?
