My daughter got married that day. Yes, she picked a fall Saturday, but at least made it the Tulane game.

I was in the back of the church in Chicago waiting to walk her up the aisle, and when the doors opened, I shit you not, I could hear "Hang on, Sloopy" coming from a Buckeye bar just a couple hundred feet away. I stayed away from the bar and never checked the score until after 10 p.m. I was very glad it was the Tulane game.
My daughter better not try that shit. She'll be walking herself down the aisle.

Great to see a parent parenting. These things leave some great memories for kids. Just really nice to see in this day.
Hey thanks Taos! We spent a couple hours wandering campus before the game and had a lot of fun.

On a related note, we have seven 8/9-year-old girls in the house tonight for my older daughter's bday party. Pray for our hamsters.

he’s improving.
Brace came off Monday. limited activity (no sports or PE) for at least another week.

he’s walking on it and seems to be getting around ok.
nothing torn, just stretched the shit outta it.

about to just put him in a bubble.

since March:
right ankle officially diagnosed with Tendonitis of his Achilles 3 days before 1st game of his baseball season. didn’t fully heal until after the season.

in game 2 of baseball season, sprains his left ankle when a guy slid into him while he was trying to turn 2 at second base.

the NEXT NIGHT , gets drilled by a pitch in his still somewhat swollen left ankle.

minor groin pull in 2nd to last game of regular season thanks to his cleat not grabbing when planting causing him to do most of a split.

was unable to pitch during first half of season due to inflammation and discomfort in throwing elbow.

tweaked something in lower back jumping on trampoline about 2 months ago.

and now his left knee.

lil bastard is tough as nails though.
missed a total of 2 innings all season.
had a rough year statistically and was never 100%.
but he grinded it out and hobbled through it.

his teammate had to help him off the field the night he got hit by pitch.
he was subbed out in the field, but due to league rules, he still had to bat when his spot comes up or it’s a slot out.
well of course his spot comes up with 2 outs, down 1 in last inning.

dude told coach “we aint going down like this” and somehow carried himself to the plate on two throbbing ankles.
thought it was going to be his Kirk Gibson moment, but he lined out to the SS.
poor thing just collapsed on the basepath when it was caught. teammates had to help him through postgame handshakes.
