The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I thought this episode was better than last weeks, anyway. I agree with the LotR comparison. All their doing is walking. Only 3 episodes left in the season. Which main character is going to die be the end? My vote is either Carole, Tyreese, or Bob.

I honestly really enjoyed this show. They connected some dots between the disastrous show featuring Darryl and Beth last week...if you are going to commit an entire show to them, might as well develop the story and they did. I think this episode was the best since the prison went south. Not saying much but I thought it was at least a step in the right direction.

And the reason I quoted your post is to say that I hope it is Bob...I absolutely hate his character. If he was hosting Reading Rainbow and not fighting zombies while intoxicated, I would like him better. He is literally the least interesting character I have seen on the show, a terrible actor, and I hope he is shredded by zombies asap.

:slappy: LotR and Reading Rainbow references in the Walking Dead thread. WIN.

A year ago I would have said Carol trumped Bob, but they actually made her an interesting character with the whole settin' bodies on fire angle. I'm still not convinced she was the one that did it though, I think she was covering for the blond little girl. Maybe we find out more about that next week. That could be one of the controversial episodes that Andrew Lincoln (Rick) hinted about in this 2nd half of the season? Something is definitely not right about Bob though, maybe it's just his bad acting, but he still gives off some creepy vibe.

I did enjoy parts of the episode. I thought the abduction of Beth is the most interesting thing to happen this season as we have no real clues who has her. As stupid as it was to have Daryl just open the door the way he did at the funeral home, I enjoyed the fight that ensued. I didn't care for the Bob/Sasha/Maggie story at all, theres just nothing really going on there. The only cool thing with that whole segment was having Maggie write her messages to Glenn with walker blood. I guess a whole scene got cut where Maggie was trying to write a sign and she gets attacked and was rolling around in the dirt with some walker, they talked about it on Talking Dead. That probably would have been better than spending 30 minutes of the show dedicated to Bob's backstory and developing a relationship of sorts with Sasha.

It looked like...and I'm just throwing this out there...from the preview for next week, that maybe...and I say MAYBE...Carol might let the blonde girl, who was ripping apart animals and presumably killed the 2 humans, get killed by a walker and do nothing to help her. Again, it was just a preview...but that would certainly ignite some controversy. Perhaps we get a situation where she tries to kill Judith...again...or something, and Carol realizes that for the betterment of the group, she has to let her go. I don't know, that could be totally full of shit...but that was my first impression seeing just the snippets they showed.

OK, back to the show...

I found this article interesting...Kirkman calls this the most important episode of the season (or at least "the one to watch"), and so this could be "the most controversial" one that Andrew Lincoln spoke about in the earlier article. I think a child will die, the question is which one, how, who kills him/her, and what happens to the characters afterwards. Will little Sociopath Barbie kill Judith, leading to Carol letting the walkers take her and telling Tyreese she burned his girlfriend? Could be interesting, my interest is more peaked than it was.
