The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

I, too, am in the boat that was just waiting for the two of them to take all of their frustrations out on one another sexually but I wasn't sure if that was creepy of me or not because I don't know how old Beth is in the show

Thats what I was thinking. The whole episode I was thinking "I see where this is going...and Daryl seems kind of old and creepy for her." I checked the Wiki, it looks like Beth's character is 18 this season. Then again, what is age in a zombie apocalypse? It's not like he's going to get thrown in prison if he violates the age of consent. Hell, he's already been there.

I'll say this, I wasn't really hoping for it, but I was also surprised, almost shocked even, that they didn't go the sex direction because they seemed to be setting it up perfectly. I mean, nothing else was happening in the entire episode, the two of them are isolated, they were both drinking and having self-aware moments...and then there was the "I've never" game. I mean really, she was all like "I've never had a drink" and all that, and talking about how she wanted to do stuff now that her dad is gone, so I was totally expecting "I've never had sex" and then for her to look at him with pouty-we-could-be-dead-soon-so-fuck-me eyes, and then...BOOM! But no, it never even got mentioned, or even alluded to

Yep, 18 now (27 or 28 in real life) and totally agreed. If I was stranded with her, that story arch would have been much different.

As to Bucklion's comment, 100% what I was thinking...I've played "Never have I ever" enough to know how that game usually ends. Throw in the fact that you are in the apocalypse and may die that day, and you would have to think it happens.

I lol'd when I read that. The drinking game had to be the dumbest part of the whole episode. I sat there thinking "30 something redneck is going to play a drinking game with this 18 year old? I guess if it leads to sex for him maybe." It just felt like all kinds of awkward though. Part of me did wonder if Beth was trying to get drunk, and/or get Daryl drunk, to take away inhibitions and allow him to take advantage of her.

I'm a bit curious about the darts scene in the golf clubhouse. Daryl starts throwing darts, and they emphasize him hitting the club big wigs as oppose to the actual dartboard. There seemed to be some animosity there. I don't suppose they talked about that scene on the Talking Dead at all?

Probably just playing up the whole "They had money and I didn't" bitch fest he went into after he started drinking. Same thing when he said "Who cares, she's dead" about the corpse with 'Rich Bitch' written on her.

Things would have been different if TWD was on HBO. I think Beth wanted the dick, but Daryl doesn't see her like that.

So, this episode they provide a short back story on Bob, they open up Sasha a little more, the two share a kiss (Looks like people are gonna hook up left and right in this apocalypse now). Then we see a little more Daryl and Beth, definitely still teasing something there. Beth getting abducted is probably the most interesting thing to happen in the 2nd half of this season. It doesn't look like the Sons of Anarchy have Beth, the guys that we saw before with Rick in the house. I can't see Daryl sticking around with those guys for long.

I'm a bit curious who was living in that morgue, and if they're the ones that took off with Beth. Also, how did they avoid the walkers since they were just outside before that herd attacked the building? Another one of those scenarios that Buckyle won't like, since in the silence they probably should have heard that car drive up.

One interesting note...the teaser on Talking Dead left me wondering a bit...all they showed was a tea kettle going off, then a wide shot of what appeared to be Carl or some kid running or taunting a zombie. All the while, the song "Maybe" by the Ink Spots is playing. It's certainly a little creepy, but it makes me wonder if they stole the idea straight out of Fallout. I think it's more than coincidence. Either they stole the idea, or they're paying homage.

To some degree it's always been like that, yeah? I'm not sure how you can change that really. Definitely too much talking though, at least compared to some previous seasons. I doubt that will ever change, I think they pander too much to the females that watch for Daryl now, so they have to have all the drama and talking.

I thought this episode was better than last weeks, anyway. I agree with the LotR comparison. All their doing is walking. Only 3 episodes left in the season. Which main character is going to die be the end? My vote is either Carole, Tyreese, or Bob.
