(I mean, who was piloting the tank, Miley Cyrus?)
Hey, it's hard to control a tank when you're twerking the controls.
Dead for sure: Herschel (that was brutal), GBG's daughter, GBG's lesbian sister's paramilitary lover
Badly wounded: Rick, Governor, DWT, Bob (I think that's his name, the alcoholic Dr. guy)
I think Governor is most likely dead. Kirkmen on Talking Dead mentioned in the comic that they left the Governor's death very unsatisfying with Lilly (GBG) shooting the Governor to finish him. He didn't want to do that with the show, so he had 3 people finish him off. I do agree that we never see Lilly put the bullet through his head, just fire the shot, so that does leave some speculation. I think Michonne's hit was a mortal wound though. Rick obviously will be fine, and Bob should be fine too. Mitch (DWT) is likely dead too with the Governor gone, no reason for him to carry on as a character.
Missing: Judith, Apocalypse Barbie
I think Judith is alive and with Apocalypse Barbie(Beth). People have said that in the comic Judith dies in the prison attack, and last night's episode was mostly true to the comics some have said. However, I think they're stringing us along with the bloody car seat and no remains. Then again...I'm not sure this show is edgy enough to show a baby getting eaten, or a baby corpse, so the car seat could have been a less gruesome way to depict Judith's death.
At Large: Rick, Carl, Daryl, Sasha, Tyreese, Maggie, Bob, the Carole Junior Scare Pair, GBG, GBG's lesbian sister, a few various members of the Governor's group
I think they've opened up for Carol's return by having the little girl save Tyreese. Tyreese finds out it was Carol that we think burned the two bodies, yet Carol's little protege saved his life. This allows him to partially forgive Carol and allow her return. Then again...I still think the little girl is the one that burned the bodies and was feeding rats to the walkers, and Carol covered for her so she wouldn't be punished.
-I get that there was a difference between the seasoned fighters of the prison and the Governor's new ragtag bunch, but Jesus, with that many bullets flying, wouldn't the law of averages state that at least ONE character of significance would have gotten hit? I mean with that many guns firing that many rounds, Brandon Weeden could have hit somebody. Ridiculous that, in the end, no one really died except Herschel, and that took a sword execution.
I have to agree with you that at least one major character could/should have gotten shot in the prison fight. Then again, Rick and Bob both took bullets, and Tyreese should have been dead to rights if not for the little psycho girl. I think, despite being undermanned and without a tank, it's easier for the prison dwellers to stay alive as they had the training and a somewhat fortified position while the Governor's group had to advance.
-The Governor's stupidity is hard to accept. So if it's me, I'm sitting there with a sword, and I can kill either a) The chick badass who kills like she breathes and who happened to gouge my eye out and trach my zombie daughter, or b) the old philosopher dude who wouldn't hurt a fly and has one leg. Yeah, the choice is obvious. Not.
Michonne was somewhat of a loner though. While she obviously was the more lethal of the two captives, Hershel had the unique position of being the role model of the prison, the father figure to many and not just Maggie and Beth. Killing Michonne would have made the prison group sad, I'm sure, but killing Hershel was the Governor's best move to illicit an emotional reaction and ensure that war happened. After Rick delivered his speech to the Governor's group, the Gov knew he was losing momentum. The only thing he could do to make sure he didn't lose his army was force the prison to start shooting first. Hershel was that catalyst.
-So what's the deal with the Scare Pair...I guess they were validating Carole's teaching methods at the end? Not sure where they are going with that, and it's hard to see an effective arc, unless they just become 2 of the group...or Carl starts his own Governor's Army after gutting one too many rats, which would be quite a story arc for Season 4, I guess.
Like I said earlier, I think the little blond girl is the one that burned the bodies and was feeding the walkers, she's not all there. I don't think Carl has anything to do with that. It should make an interesting reunion with Carol if Tyreese somewhat forgives her since her protege saved his life...only to find out that the protege is the one that actually burned the bodies. That would be a twist.
