The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Shane shouldn't have made it to the farm.

Probably not, and it ended up being his undoing (He would have lived a longer life most likely if he took off when he was thinking about it). I wasn't a big fan of Shane on the show at first. I can understand if he really thought Rick was dead and slept with his wife, but he wouldn't let Lori go. After he got taken out I thought about it and he brought an interesting character dynamic to the show. He's one of the "survivors" who take no prisoners, so morally he's willing to get his hands dirty. However, at his core he's also interested in looking out for Lori, Carl, and the unborn baby. You don't know what these kind of characters are going to do next, and the unpredictability is entertaining.

So they use the comeback episode for a plodding backstory? Not the direction I would have chosen, but I guess it was OK for what it was. Still didn't explain much on Michonne's story that was understandable despite spending half the show on it...would have liked at least some kind of payoff on that. But the three are reunited...that should be fun. Looks like we'll get to everyone else next week.

half this "half" season is going to be back stories and filler to get them all reunited in the last episode. this is going to be a very slow moving season

This plodding character development is killing me; next weeks episode seems far more interesting, but it always does.

I liked the story behind Michonne but they took 30 minutes to do what 10 minutes could have done.

Carl & Rick, same story as ever.

It's been too long since the first half of this season and I can't remember......why is Carl being a dick to his dad?
Carl wants to go all Bear Grylls (or however the fuck you spell it) and basically play Darwin survival of the fittest kind of thing...as he said above, like Shane. Rick was all Farmer Joe, trying to create some sort of utopia and shield Carl from the world as best he could...or, basically, Carl wants to be a grown-assed man and Rick still wanted him to be a kid, I guess, is another way to put it. So Carl blames his dad for being "weak" and having all the bad stuff happen...though by the end of the episode last night, I guess not? Was really muddled.
