I feel bad for the black guys on this show. If they see another black guy auditioning for another part, they might as well get their resume out.

No kidding. The NAACZ really dropped the ball on this show.

Welcome to the show, Tyrese. Feel free to kick some cracker ass, please.

Are they still in Georgia? I assumed after they left Atlanta they could be anywhere. Especially after they said in the Season 3 premier they'd been traveling all winter.

Well all that time they only managed to wander to the prison that was visible from the air in the season 2 finale

According to the Walking Dead wiki, the prison is the West Georgia Correctional Facility. That is from the comics, but I assume it is the same place. It's about 50 miles South of Atlanta.

edit: reading further, apparently Merle mentioned something about it being near Nunez, Georgia which is about 175 miles SE of Atlanta. So they are still in Georgia per both the comics and the tv show.

Great season. I love the direction the show is going. Daryl obviously isn't going anywhere. He is easily the most liked character and has been for some time now. That would be suicide for the series. I think that the whole turning on Merle thing is a ploy to get Daryl to trust Merle. Somehow they will escape and Daryl will take Merle back to the prison and unbeknownst to Daryl, Merle will act as a spy/traitor.

Three things make me think this: 1) the Governor mentioned the spy angle earlier in the episode; 2) there is a sound byte in the trailer where Rick angrily asks "what is he doing here?" (I assume he is referring to Merle, though it doesn't show); and 3) it is consistent with the characters.

Just a guess, but it seems feasible.

Would fall in line with the Comics, as there was a spy who lets the Governer know where the other people are and how many of them there are.

I love that the writers listened to peoples complaints about the show last year and adjusted for more action this year, though there's still a second half the season for them to screw it up.

Yeah I don't know what they're trying to do there (to quote David Feherty all the time). I mean, logically I can buy Daryl leaving with Merle, though a bit more internal conflict about it would have been better, it was like a blow-off decision, which didn't fit. As for Rick the repeated loss of people would seem to necessitate bringing in new people...who the F is going to protect all these kids? Yet instead of reloading the group and prepping for a showdown he is seeing and hearing chicks left and right and going batshit, which is a disappointment. Tough watching what they've done to butcher the Michonne character...at this point she is a total throw-away, which really destroys a fabulous story arc. Blondie is starting to surpass Lori as the most annoying character on the show, ever...and I am talking about change the channel heat, not heel heat. I just wish she would die and go the fuck away.

Overall the acting was good on the show last night I thought...but the story still just isn't doing it for me.
