The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Saw an interesting article on Forbes of all places, speculating as to whether Enid is a spy for the Wolves. Evidence he brought up included: the tease last season where she was jumping the wall, Carl followed her, but she caught him before she got where she was going; her extremely calm demeanor when the Wolves attacked; not one single Wolf attacked Carl and Judith’s house; her backstory being in this episode, which seems like coincident timing, and which seemed to start early in the outbreak and had potential gaps between it and when she got to Alexandria (plus, how did her parents die and get dragged out of the car but she didn’t?); the fact that she had obtained keys to all the important places; the fact no Wolves attacked her, either on her way out or when she was standing at the door when Carl was out saving Blondie’s doofus son; and a line of dialogue that I guess I missed, when she told Carl that the place was too big to protect, she then said “That’s how we…” and trailed off without finishing the thought. Thus, “JSS” or “Just Survive Somehow” may refer to her joining the Wolves, spying on camps for them (hence her hesitation when arriving at Alexandria, followed by looking at the “JSS” on her arm), and even as a warning to Carl to do so if necessary. I do remember wondering about that last year when she and Carl were out together, and it did seem like awfully coincident timing that her backstory was in this episode, and also that the Wolves both so easily beat the sentry on top of the wall, and knew exactly when to come when the fighters were out tending to the walkers.

I don’t know, but I thought it was interesting.

I may be jumping the gun, but I thought this was supposed to be obvious.

With all the ham-fisted symbolism (literal scarlet letters) since they've been at Alexandria, I figured the "wolf in sheep's clothing" theme they've run through with Carol and Enid was intentionally up front.

Could be...but with the unevenness of the writing, it is always hard to tell.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! (although I'm not sure why anyone would come into this thread in advance of getting caught up, but I digress)

That was just heartbreaking on every damn level. When Glenn and Nickolas got on the dumpster, I just saw no possible way out but this time there really wasn't. I thought that guy would kill him but not like that...they were screwed either way, that just sped it up. And then the way Glenn goes down, without anyone there to confirm that he died and there will be nothing left of him. Just a brutal, brutal death. Then the rest of the deaths in the group were equally horrific.

But it was a sort of necessary episode to show that nobody is safe and that even Glenn, the master planner, can't escape everything. As a closing though, it also looks like Rick is fucked but I doubt they kill the main character.

It just seemed ambiguous. Usually when you get a death like that, they like to show the actual entrails being ripped from the cavity. They never actually show HIM being eaten, only his face and blood squirting up. No actual body shots of it happening. And after watching it again, Nicholas is definitely falling on top of him as they go off the dumpster. And Glenn's face looks more like a face or horror, and not of pain. Just my opinion.

I'll be disappointed if they pull a stunt like that.

I DVR a couple of extra minutes, so I always catch the first minute of TD afterwards. The main dude on that show made it a point of saying "what appeared to be" Glenn being ripped apart, so it's possible they are planning some sort of Rambo Houdini escapist bullshit. I agree with 27 though, they are going to completely lose me if they do that...especially since Rick is obviously going to have some sort of crazy escape on top of that. It may have been loser that was being devoured on top of him, but even if it was, there is zero chance Glenn would ever make it out of that. Ever.
