The Walking Dead (Official Thread)

Ugh...I just watched the clip again. It looks a lot like
Nicholas' body on top of Glenn being eaten now.
That's too obvious, so of course that's what's going to happen.

here's the thing...even if that is true...even if it is, Rick is stuck in the RV, Michonne, here future boyfriend (I am convinced of that) and the gun shot guy are lagging a long way away, Daryl rejoined Booger Red and crazy chick at the end...and everyone else that went out is dead. So he would somehow have to escape that by himself. Unpossible

nothing is impossible for the way this show ignores reality. if he's covered in guts, they might revisit the first season where you could hide your scent (you know....the scent that could draw walkers out of anywhere to find you that they just ignored as being a thing after season one). eventually they disburse and he gets up covered in guts but not bitten. entirely far fetched, but not impossible for this show.
to be fair....I've really enjoyed this season so far.

I have too, but if they pull that...forget it.

The reason I'm not sure that Glenn is dead is the fact that usually when someone noteworthy dies, they end up on Talking Dead afterwards. Glenn was not on Talking Dead. Then they have the memoriam during Talking Dead and Glenn wasn't shown on that either. It just said something like "please don't be true," 3 times. I just find it hard to believe that he dies and doesn't show up on Talking Dead to discuss the ride of his 5+ seasons on the show coming to an end. If not then, when?

Now, how does he survive? Shit, I don't know. Maybe he crawls under the dumpster. Is that even possible? Maybe someone completely unknown up to this point shows up with a zombie grenade? I have no idea what happens next.

Maybe he really is dead and my logic doesn't apply.

I thought the same thing. Now, maybe its a double swerve and he is dead; or maybe he isn't yet but it is imminent; or maybe he survives and we don't see him until the last episode before the break, when Negin arrives abs cuts him apart; or maybe he pulls some John Wayne jump off the covered wagon bullshit and has 50 kids with Maggie. It could be anything.

I've read enough of the comic to know the show and the comic are not 100% true of each other, but with that being said, it seems hard to believe that Glenn's character doesn't go out in the show the same way he goes out in the comics.
Unless they reserve that honor to Darryl. I don't think they do.

I think Glenn gets his own deus ex machina, much like the one that he once offered Rick at the end of the first episode. All of the nods point to it, the callback to him calling Rick a dumbass, the dumpster being the perfect height to crawl under, the "statement" that the creators offered to Hardwick on Talking Dead, the non-committal "in memoriam" on Talking Dead as well as the fact that we know for a fact Jesus shows up this season at some point... it all leads to a miraculous reveal of Glenn staying alive just long enough to help rebuild Alexandria and face his destiny with Lucille.

Why else would we get 90 minutes of Morgan next week except to further milk to "is he or isn't he"?

BTW apparently next weeks show is entirely Morgan's back story...not sure why we need 90 minutes of that, and I think that will kill the momentum of this episode some. But we'll see.
They know people will watch this week, because they have to find out what happened, and this gives them a captive audience to help understand why the Morgan we once knew and liked became the Morgan we see now.

I'll either come out of it with a greater respect for this writing staff, as the last season and these first two episodes have been creative gold, or I'll be absolutely dumbfounded by this character's neutering. I'm 95% positive it'll be the former.
