Taosman;1990617; said:Peterson won't be able to resist the lure and money of a big time program.
No intermediate step for him. He's as good as Kelly(ND) right now!

What astounds me are the posters here who cite the vast shortcomings of Michigan, Sparty, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Illinois -- and let's not even go to Minnie, Purdue, and Indiana-- and then turn around and claim that a Big 10 schedule is such a grind. You can't have it both ways. Either those programs are excellent and it takes talent, coaching and depth to beat them, or they're mediocre and thus programs like Boise State and TCU can play with them.
I don't know, maybe BSU's academic requirements allow Peterson to recruit kids the Pac 10/Big 10 can't touch. Maybe, by attracting kids who aren't looking for a quick ticket to the NFL, he has the time to develop lesser players.
Whatever it is, IMO BSU would be competitive in the Big 10.
Do I want them in the Big 10? Hell no.
Would they go undefeated? I've seen GREAT Buckeye teams fail to achieve that.
Could they win a Big 10 title? Northwestern has won or tied for the championship something like five times in the last 20 seasons, so yes.

BUCKYLE;1990548; said:It's not about playing each fucking team in a vacuum. It's that Boise would have to play a fucking conference schedule. It's a fucking grind.
Buckeyefrankmp;1990650; said:Not Really. In the six years before joining the Big 10, they were average. I would not call 9-3 a juggernaut.

Muck;1990656; said:You are still ignoring the fact that they are an order of magnitude more difficult to play week after week than what BSU faces.
Georgia might finish around .500 this year...and they're arguably the best team BSU will play.
