Which is my opinion and born out every day in the headlines. We are trying to have even a small dialogue about racism and the direction of this country and people.

Then you're insulating yourself from the world and only digesting a very isolated and angled portrayal of the news. Like the kind you get from Mr Stewart if that was the bulk of your news feed.

Every wicked conservative could come to respect minorities and there would still be countless examples of other racism.


For someone who operates from such a open minded pulpit, you sure lack perspective about the world around you. Go spend some time in LA and try and argue that racism is a white conservative thing. Or spend some time in nba circles and tell me whether there is black racism against whites, general racism against unusual additions like Asian or European foreigners, etc. Spend time on any school bus when a new kid arrives from far away. None of that excuses or removes the need for change with some white people. What It demands is for your ignorance to be replaced with awareness of very basic elements of America and humanity.

Man has always struggled to interact with those that are different or unknown to them. We all have that weakness to varying degrees. Pretending it is a one demographic problem is just as ignorant as that you claim to fight against and in so doing you breed more hostility and separation.

I can't look into everyone here's heart and see if they are a racist or not. I can only see what people here have said in the BP Political Forum.
Again, I have not called a single BPer a "racist" or "evil racist".

The problem here is Taos can't stand it that people disagree with him on a whole host of issues, but instead of trying to be as open minded as he proclaims to be, he's stomping his feet and screeching racist at the walls.

you realize that those headlines are merely propaganda from the media that is owned and controlled by the money changers right.

FYI if there is a cure to racism, it is race based comedy.

...are used to sell. There are sometimes outside influences but no one presents a balanced perspective.

The news outlets have always been sensational but in modern times have mastered the art of drama and spoonfeeding to their demographics (some watch what they hate, see espn).

I like Colbert and The Bugle because they mock across the spectrum of news (with The Daily Show formerly on this list). Then when they devolve into the absurd I know it is for comedy not propaganda. Thing is, even the enjoyable satirical news shows report the profitable side of the news, because admirable stories are not good for ratings (beyond rare anecdotes).

I'm going to assume you are talking about the democratic party. The party of David Duke, the party of Jesse Jackson, the party of Robert Byrd, The party of Joe Biden. I don't think it's right that you paint any segment of the population with such a broad brush. Sure, many liberal democrats have nothing but racist hatred in their hearts. Pointing fingers and making wild accusations isn't going to bring them back into the light of conservative republican love.

I see both white bigots and white guilt pandering apologists in the same light. They both have superiority complexes regarding their white skin except the white guilt liberal doesn't realize it. The crying of tears for the perceived discrimination and the racism the POC face and the pandering and the apologizing, making excuses is actually very demeaning to anyone the has any self respect whatsoever. What you are saying, in a roundabout way is they are too weak, not smart enough to take care of themselves, defend themselves so you must step in and be like a caretaker. You're also inferring that they shouldn't be held out to the standard as any other race as if they were incapable.
I've been around a bit, I've experienced a number of cultures and sociological settings and one thing I've found to ring true almost 100% of the time is that if you carry yourself respectfully, no matter which race or gender you happen to be, you will be respected by nearly everyone you meet.
Also, I always find it hilarious whenever liberal accuse republicans of being the racists holding his foot of the throat of colored people when colored people vote democrat pretty much 95% of the time and the mayors, the councilmen, the police chiefs and right on down the line are all democrats. They got to catch on to this some time, don't they ? :wink:
