The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

No, you've been burned once all season by how shitty the team has looked. None of us like the often underachieving quality of play either and many of us are calling for some shakeups on the staff, but they've lost one game and won a conference championship game, something that your Georgia juggernaut couldn't manage. By your eye test, 2002 Ohio State would likely have been left out of the title game for two-loss USC or one-loss Iowa.

Ohio State should have in no way been in the playoff in 2014 either, according to his logic. With a loss to a 7-6 Virginia Tech team (AT HOME), 2 OT survival of 7-6 Ped State, only a 7 point win @ 8-5 Minnesota and struggles with 4-8 Indiana in late November.

His criteria is just as inconsistent and revolving as the actual CFP board.

It's a bummer that the PAC couldn't field a better champion this year than Washington (who has 3 losses to 3 mediocre teams)

It's pretty much a lose lose game, especially with fans like @BuckBuckTN and the so called "pundits". If we win "well Washington was just average they should win" but if we lose it's "WE TOLD YOU SO! THEY ARENT ANY GOOD"

Same scenario as the B1G title game.

I am getting sick of the "Do you think Alabama or whatever elite team would lose by whatever margin to whatever team" shit. Would Alabama be in a close game until the 3rd quarter with a .500 Navy team? Would Alabama lose to a .500 VaTech team? Would Alabama get taken to 2OT by a .500 Penn State team? Would Alabama beat an average Minnesota team by a mere TD? Guess what? A team that did all those things beat Alabama's ass that year.

Alabama also doesn’t come up north to play anyone in bad weather. Let them go play Purdue on the road at night when it’s 30 degrees outside and 15mph winds.

Not happening. Ohio State should stop scheduling these games as well.

All I'm asking is that we look...... the MD game was 11/17...... NOT fucking September. Since when do football teams REALLY "turn it around and become a great team" in 3 weeks?

Honesty, reality.

...and the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State game was on November 10. Much like OSU/Maryland, Oklahoma needed (and got) a stop on a two-point conversion, or they would have lost the game. At home. Against an Oklahoma State team that finished the season 6-6.

give him a break, he's been "burned" this year.

He's grieving. It's a process.

Who the hell has even "rated" Nebraska this season? lol

Penn State is #12 this year because outside of 6 or 7 teams, everyone else is nothing more than average. However you dont see the talking heads talking up Penn State like they do the Florida and LSU's of the world when there is really no difference between the 3 teams.
So who the hell did tOSU play that was so tough?

If Corn isn't anybody, PSU is overrated..... Rutgers? The Badgers? Sparty this year? Where's those wins that make us "elite" in your eyes other than the hard bitch slapping of ttun and an expected NW win?

The thing I'm hearing is: Bana and GA play nobody. Well, we gotta back that up with...... look who we stomped. Well, MANY, MANY, MANY years we beat the living shit out of good teams. This year is an exception. We beat the hell out of ttun..... always the best day of the year.

Point me in the direction of those high quality and strong wins over worthy opponents this year.

If PSU is "overrated" then so are LSU and Florida. All 3 are not worth their rankings, but somebody has gotta fill out the rest of that top 25, unfortunately this year its 6 or 7 "good" teams then a significant drop off after.

Bama and UGA played eachother, that's about it.

Michigan i'd say is definitely better than LSU and Florida, who are on the same level as Penn State, who Michigan ran over.

So all 3 played 1 "quality" opponent in your eyes.

Ohio State's win over their "quality opponent" was definitely the most impressive of the bunch and UGA lost their one bout.

And UGA had 2 losses before you pull the "BUT PURDUE!!!!!" card again.....

If you're gonna do that you're going with the logic that the 1st loss for SEC teams doesnt count (which the committee seems to follow) and basically saying UGAs 2nd loss doesn't count either.

Why even play the games at that point?

Somewhere someone is saying: OSU and scUM play each other...... that's it.

It's damn true that OSU looked like THE TEAM in the CFP against ttun. Damn true.

Now, that excuses MD and Purdue and PSU where they looked more like..... I dunno NW???

I'm a realist, not a fanboy. tOSU normally looks TREMENDOUSLY better than this year's team.

Again, no is saying, "Damn, this team looked great this year." They didn't..... until they beat ttun.

Did you watch tOSU this year? I did.

How'd you enjoy that Corn game? How about that PSU game? MD?

Again, just on the W-L..... I'll concede all day. GA is a 2 loss team. I'm not sure GA could be a 3 loss team....... but I'm damn sure SEVERAL REGULAR POSTERS HERE were saying we might be earlier in the year.

Ok? And using that logic, Ohio State is > UGA

Both played 1 "quality" team. Ohio State won by 23 and UGA lost by 7. UGA also has 2 losses to Ohio State's 1.

Bama isnt even in this argument, they went undefeated and earned their own right to their ranking. UGA is getting a BS biased "benefit of the doubt" of "well they played Bama close so they must be great" completely ignoring their other loss, a beatdown to an average at best LSU team.

Ok, and what does that matter now? Thing's change, teams get better,

I'm sure people were thinking similar or worse in 2014 after struggling with Navy and the Va Tech debacle, but they ended up winning the national title. Shit happens sometimes.
