For the record OU sucks..... and is about to get jailhouse fucked for their unfortunate inclusion into the dance.

Still, this constant diversion away from what WE LOOKED LIKE to others is annoying.

C'mon, step forward and say, "This was a damn good year for the Buckeyes. They looked good this year."
The field stinks. I have no idea if OU stinks, because I'm not sure that Alabama is that great either (though Tua sure is when he's healthy). UGA did whatever they wanted to that defense. Is that because UGA is amazing or Bama has been playing patsies?

As for OSU, It was an inconsistent year and there's literally no one arguing otherwise, yet you keep screaming at people to realize the thing we all know quite well. Maybe you can start persuading us that Joe bauserman was inconsistent on the road in Nebraska.

This was possibly the worst year in the Urban Meyer era. How terrible for us that we had to endure 1 loss in that gut wrenching season, ending with the most magnificent long con on Michigan handing them arguably their most demoralizing loss in the history of the rivalry.

If my criticism of the system is based entirely (or largely) on it treating OSU fairly, then my opinion is pretty much trash, yet you insist on those two being directly linked.

Major college teams are built to get better in November. OSU is a better team now but it plays into the committee narative to not look at who they are now. The distruction of a very good TTUN means nothing. The winning of a conference title means nothing now. That is why this system need to be blown up.

Ohio State is unquestionably better now than when they faced Nebraska Purdue and Maryland........teams are allowed to get better later in the year, you know? Too late this year for Ohio State's case but IMO they are clearly a different team now.

You focus all on Ohio State's bad. But Ohio State's good is >>>>>>>>> Georgia's good, and Ohio State is just now starting to hit their stride. Too bad they couldn't get there earlier in the season, but it is what it is now.
I am getting sick of the "Do you think Alabama or whatever elite team would lose by whatever margin to whatever team" shit. Would Alabama be in a close game until the 3rd quarter with a .500 Navy team? Would Alabama lose to a .500 VaTech team? Would Alabama get taken to 2OT by a .500 Penn State team? Would Alabama beat an average Minnesota team by a mere TD? Guess what? A team that did all those things beat Alabama's ass that year.

I'm not whining one damn bit. I'm giving my opinion about how the damn season looked.

STILL..... you, nor anyone else, has stepped up to say, "What a great year this was to be a Buckeye. This team looked great." Yeah, they looked great in TWO DAMN GAMES against opponents that mattered a lot. Otherwise, they simply didn't.

Deny that.

Screw you if you don't like the reality of the season.

Oh you are whining.

You internet tough guy yell when you do it but at heart you are just a whiny bitch.

You are one of those people who were bitching about how bad a QB JT Barrett was when he was here and spent this entire season going nuts about the defense instead of giving this team credit for one of the top offenses in college football and a young defense who found a way to get the job done more often than not.

You enjoy being miserable and constantly anxious about the next thing to go wrong.

You represent (being kind) half our fanbase and it's the half that makes us look far worse than any discussion about the rubric used by the CFP committee.

I actually wouldn't be surprised to see OU beat Alabama.

Alabama looks good to the eye on the field, but in the end who has really tested them this year? (up until the UGA game)

Besides UGA, Their "best" opponents in LSU & Miss State both for the most part crashed and burned when they played other decent teams outside of Bama as well. (and both of those teams have 2 of the worst offenses from supposed "good" teams)

Are you sure?

tOSU made us all proud against ttun...... no doubt, no other way to say it, they whipped the ass they ALWAYS need to whip and did it the way I'd like to see it done every year.

tOSU vs NW was damn good, but not great.

Need I mention, MD was just 3 weeks ago. Mid-November....... not months ago.

Just be honest, guys. I loved the ttun game..... a highlight game for years to come..... but tOSU SHOULD easily best NW, and did, but that's not really a "turning point." Other than the ttun game, where is this "different team" we suddenly are?

Pretend for a second you didn't erroneously hear "WE'RE GETTING RIPPED OFF", and instead heard "THE COMMITTEE IS NOT TREATING EACH TEAM EQUALLY". Now continue your defense.....but you don't get to use "just beat Purdue".

Oh please, "They're not treating teams equally!" - welcome to planet Earth. I told you weeks ago the CFP is a beauty contest. The Miss America pageant had stated criteria and yet those damn subjective humans allowed the hot babe in the swimsuit to influence their opinions.

And you don't get to ignore the ugly wart on the end of our nose in that swimsuit contest simply because it detracts from your argument. No one in the top six had a loss that ugly, and to think subjective human beings - despite all of their stated criteria - weren't influenced by that train wreck would be woefully naive.

I don't know if you or the rest of the "we wuz robbed" crowd actually believe a room full of human beings are going to crank out teams like a computer or if you're just taking that position because it helps your position (in your minds), but I do know this: the last 50 or so pages of this thread would not exist if the Bucks got a CFP berth.

That, my friend, is called sour grapes. Dress it up with righteous indignation and it's still sour grapes.

Let's go back to the committees revolving door circus of "criteria"

Ohio State basically got in the playoff in 2014 based off a strong finish to the season (beating scUM by 2 TD and clobbering Wisconsin) after some bad struggles earlier in the season.

If they were the same team they were against MD, they get clobbered by scUM and don't even play NW for the B1G title, sometimes things just start clicking, for whatever reason the near loss to MD finally got the motor running 100% and if the MD team showed up in the B1G title game they would have lost that one as well. Point is, not the same team that faced Maryland, for whatever reason.

There was nothing we could have done against scUM/NW to get the committee to stop holding that Purdue loss against us. Maybe rightfully so, but also wrongfully so they were willing to basically say that UGAs losses don't count. Seems like it was very close between them and OU, thankfully they made the right choice with OU.

Looking at the reality isn't whining.

I've stressed that OU sucks. I've said the committee gives the SEC props.

I've also pointed out that the B1G used to get favored in rankings back in the day. True or False?

I've pointed out that Corn and Ped State are legacy overrated. Tor F?

I've pointed out this team ISN'T a great tOSU team. T or F?

I've given the team credit for a great effort against ttun and called out what we ALL called out all year...... poor schemes on D, poor execution, etc. T or F?

All I'm asking is that we look...... the MD game was 11/17...... NOT fucking September. Since when do football teams REALLY "turn it around and become a great team" in 3 weeks?

Honesty, reality.

If OSU had beaten Purdue the ESPN scriptwriters would absolutely be at work trying to justify a way to leave them out.

Their obvious agenda and the constant moving of the goal posts is the point most are trying to make.

... but I've been burned too often by this year's lack of discipline and execution. The defense, at times..... you did watch the MD game????...... is throw a football into the TV terrible.

OSU vs GA would NOT be a fun game for OSU.

No, you've been burned once all season by how shitty the team has looked. None of us like the often underachieving quality of play either and many of us are calling for some shakeups on the staff, but they've lost one game and won a conference championship game, something that your Georgia juggernaut couldn't manage. By your eye test, 2002 Ohio State would likely have been left out of the title game for two-loss USC or one-loss Iowa.

Who the hell has even "rated" Nebraska this season? lol

Penn State is #12 this year because outside of 6 or 7 teams, everyone else is nothing more than average. However you dont see the talking heads talking up Penn State like they do the Florida and LSU's of the world when there is really no difference between the 3 teams.

Nah man you don't understand, Georgia actually did win that game. Both Alabama and Georgia won.

The Indiana game of 2014 was 11/22, so to answer your dumb fucking question as factually as possible; It would appear that this happened as recently as 2014.

I'm sure your dumb, loud mouthed ass was running around that year talking about how bad that team was and how you knew they would get killed in the playoff and of course, worst of all, embarrass you in the playoff.

The quote of "Shut the fuck up Donny. You are out of your element" comes to mind when I see your ignorant ass creating train wrecks in whatever thread you haunt.
