The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

This year is not really comparable to 2014, as in 2014 OSU was able to add a high quality W in the CCG while their counterpart from the Big 12 did not have a CCG and played a pedestrian opponent. This time, the Big 12 team has the chance for the better quality win to add to their resume.
Texas is really only marginally better than Northwestern.

The only goalposts are "best four teams", no?

Which is a pretty subjective choice when the teams play less than 10% of eligible schools and the majority of that small sample size are in self contained pods.

That's like saying the only goalpost is to pick the four hottest women in the room. And one year I picked a girl because she was a blonde and I like blondes, the next year a blonde gets left out over a girl with a "clearly hotter body", and then next year the girl with the best body gets left out because she has freckles. Oh and one year, I pick a 39 year old who isn't as hot as she has been in prior years because she's shown she can be hot before.

Yep

The CFP is no different than the way they determine an ice dancing competition.

I don't disagree with any of that. The counterargument, however, is that the Oklahoma isn't without significant tarnish itself:

- best wins against #16 WVU and #24 Iowa St. (which compare poorly to OSU's best wins against #7 scUM and #12 PSU)
- close/ugly wins against 5-7 Texas Tech, 3-9 Kansas, and 6-6 Oklahoma St. (which are similar to OSU's close/ugly wins against 4-8 Nebraska, 5-7 Maryland and 6-6 Minnesota)
And why is Oklahoma’s offense considered to be so phenomenal considering the shit defenses that they play against? Could they do that week in and week out against a conference where they actually play defense?

You're telling me a 2 loss/just loss non conference winner (GA) gets in (along with their conference champ) over a one loss conference winner (OSU)?

That would be the Epitome of SEC bias and guarantee we'd see more teams added to the playoff.
I believe the scenario is that OSU loses to Northwestern which would make them 11-2. If Georgia (already ahead of OSU) loses to Alabama somewhat closely they would both be 11-2. Considering the SEC bias I absolutely see Georgia getting in.

No I firmly believe anything other than a blowout loss to Bama, Gawja would have two 2 10 losses that were close so that they would get in ahead of us. They gotta lose by like 21+ and OU has to lose for us to have any chance....

This is silly. Georgia losing puts them behind both OU and OSU, assuming OU and OSU win.

I understand its silly... I understand I could be wrong but I believe that is what the committee intends to do...

EDIT: Also i said OU and Gawja lose for us to get in... OU wins and Gawja loses OU is in...

Maybe I'm overestimating the UCF fanbase, but after last night I don't think they have any delusions of going to the Playoff this year unless at least ALL these things happen:

1. Pitt beats Clemson
2. TX beats OU and Kyler Murray immediately dies of shock
3. Northwestern beats Ohio State
4. A meteor falls on MB Stadium
5. The Domer's are all infected with E Coli (a prayer vigil is scheduled before TD Jesus)

In which case, the Playoff would look like this:

Clemson
Florida (because SEC)
LSU (see above)
Controversy ensuse on who gets the 4th spot: tOSU, UCF or Kentucky

Because it wouldn't be a playoff without 2 SEC teams and a tOSU controversy.

Yup that’s all true too. Honestly I can’t really say that I could have a meaningful discussion about OU because I willfully chose not to watch much football other than tOSU this year. So while I know OU’s record I haven’t watched enough to say. Having only watched the Bucks, it was exciting to see the team finally catch fire and have the talent we all know exists, actually play like it. But it’s hard to know if that was lightning in a bottle or a team about to gel. Hopefully we see a team fully solidified this weekend.
