The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

This...the SEC’s 3 four loss teams currently ranked would potentially all have another L and they’d likely have 2 less bowl eligible teams artificially propping up their SOS. Got to hand it to them they’re playing by their own rules and it’s working swimmingly. The CFP committee unequivocally does not factor that into their rankings process.

Allow me to throw a positive spin out there;

They left tsun at #7 and PSU at #12. Next opponent is #21 NU

Texas is only #14

Could be they have seen how inconsistent OSU is this year and are simply waiting for them to show they can do it twice before they jump them over OU based on the better wins.

Just a thought
Considering how the Bucks have meandered through the season it’s really hard to figure out what this team is. As such, it’s kinda hard to complain about rankings. Clearly when all components come together, special things can happen, but that has been the exception, not the norm. I wouldn’t expect the Bucks to jump Sooners if both win but I do agree in some way with your notion that Bucks really need to show some consistent excellence before considering such a jump.

The SEC teams dont all avoid good teams. Mizzou did win at Purdue. A&M did play and lose to Clemson. Miss St beat a bad K-St team, but it was not a cupcake. The SEC formula isnt 4 nonconference layups, its 3. But I dont see the benefit in even playing 1 challenging nonconference game, because when losses are heavily weighted against you, the risk isnt worth it on a conference-wide basis.

Herbstreit was interviewed on SiriusXM this morning and I shit you not he suggested that even if GA loses to Bama they should still be considered for the 4th spot. The parroting from sEcSPN goons like Herb is full on gaslighting. Bumping FL into the top 10 and keeping LSU in the top 10 while dropping NW 2 points are head scratchers...sarcasm. They’ve got too much influence on the CFP. The behemoth overcommitted dollars for contracts to gobble up market share while their revenue streams are eroding in the new digital economy. Doesn’t pencil out so they’re fighting to protect their product.

Where were we ranked going into the conference championship game in 2014? I forgot, but I thought the only ranking that mattered was the last one.
This year is not really comparable to 2014, as in 2014 OSU was able to add a high quality W in the CCG while their counterpart from the Big 12 did not have a CCG and played a pedestrian opponent. This time, the Big 12 team has the chance for the better quality win to add to their resume.

Look folks we’re only getting in if OU loses and Gawja loses big (20+ given Bama’s margin of victory this year). Thats it. We could beat the Nerds 80-0 and OU wins and Gawja loses OU is in. We need OU to lose and Gawja to loss big. Anything less we’re off to Pasadena and HD southern cal
