The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

In all reality that after last year, the coaches and players new what they had to do to be in the final 4. tOSU has had a GREAT year and whenthey win the title Saturday and the Rose Bowl it is a tremendous success. Just not the ultimate.,

Did you know you can give up 74 fucking points for your 3rd loss and still be a top 10 team?

What a joke

Where is LSU's punishment for struggling with LaTech? Oh, right....only OSU gets punished for off-weeks.

They pushed Mizzou in, 3 SEC teams with 4 losses in the top 25

Committee leaves room like

OSU clearly doesn't have a chance unless Oklahoma loses again. On Saturday, a 50-0 Buckeye win combined with a 50-49 Sooner win still gets OU in the playoffs, IMO.

Pretty much.

The B1G West not throwing out a 10 (or more) win team like in previous years bones us (Though we boned ourselves getting raked by Purdue)

NW is lose/lose. Buckeyes could win by 70 and it would be "oh well its just a 5 loss NW team that lost to Akron and Duke"

And of course a loss "proves" that Ohio State really wasnt that good.

Gotta leave that fuckin committee with something they can’t ignore. It’s gonna take a beat down.

It’s not the committee, IMO. It’s ESPN. They don’t want/need OSU unless OSU is going to replace a ratings dud (see TCU/Baylor).

They have Bama, Clemson, and ND. They don’t need OSU to clean up in ratings so they aren’t going to push for a team that directly hurts their future profitability (in bed with SEC and ACC).

While the Big 10 and Big 12 both have duel contracts (ESPN/Fox) only Big 10 games are setting CFB TV ratings records, and Fox has first pick of National Big 10 games.

The Big 10/Fox contract is a massive threat to ESPN. Anything they (ESPN) can do to minimize the Big 10’s success and prevent the continued market share gain of Fox in CFB ratings will happen. And you can’t say ESPN doesn’t have some say in the teams being selected. If you don’t think CFP members are being influenced by executives at ESPN, you are naive as hell.....these guys all know each other extremely well and most of the relationships go back decades. ESPN definitely has pull on who they want in after spending billions on the TV rights.
