The Polls (AP, Coaches, & CFP, etc.)

We can’t cry about ND not being deserving, and then them getting the 4 seed and not the 3.

I'm seriously not even thinking about playoffs. Three of the next four are on the road and the Buckeyes have been getting worse, not better.

@ Purdue and @ MSU loom very, very large. With this defensive back 7 Nebraska and Maryland can hurt them.

The Game is a season unto itself and looks like it could be the B1G East championship game.

Last night pretty much assured that it will be. If Scum can split the next two, then it looks like it will be winner take all.

We need to survive next 3 weeks and get healthy imo. Then it could all line up for a strong November.
Purdue isn't going to make it easy before that crucial bye though. I can see that kid giving our defense nightmares.

My guess at the Top 10 tomorrow:

1. Alabama (7-0)
2. Ohio State (7-0)
3. Notre Dame (7-0)
4. Clemson (6-0)
5. LSU (6-1)
6. Michigan (6-1)
7. Texas (6-1)
8. Oklahoma (5-1)
9. Oregon (5-1)
10. Georgia (6-1)

That looks pretty good but I don't think they'll drop Georgia that far, despite the fact that they have no impressive wins yet.

How often can you play poorly (in everything area except offensive passing), just beat a mediocre team, and move up to #2 in the polls?

to be fair to all the (warranted) concern amongst our own fans for the Buckeyes issues, when you look up at the national picture everyone else has some pretty significant issues of their own.

If ND goes undefeated, they're deserving at this point. We'll see what happens if they pick up a loss though. It would take a lot of crazy shit to go down, but this year could see one undefeated and then as many as half a dozen one loss teams fighting for the other three spots.

I think they have a chance to make it with a loss now. That is not something I thought was possible before this week's games. Tough to see the PAC winner making a strong case above them unless their loss comes to USC. B12 looks to be on course for a 2 loss champion. If Bama continues to Bama, the only reason another SEC team will be in the conversation is because ESPN is contractually obligated to fellate them.

2nd SEC team wont easily be kept out by a 1loss... but it'd be glorious to see the fits between abc nbc, and domers vs secsecsec for that final spot...

I understand the narrative will be that, but the only team that has a potential resume that warrants discussion would be the Gators winning out and playing Bama tough in SECCG. I don't see Domers getting too much a fight from the Mouse - they would be drooling over the overnights a ND semi would pull.

I'm thinking more another 3rd place team. Maybe that doesnt work with how schedules play out... but seems like that will be ESPN's formula going forward. 2nd SEC will be a team that lost head-head Division tiebreaker.
