Penn State and Wisky in top 10

Fun SEC poll math for the week:

LSU loses to UF
  • LSU -6 spots (6th to 12th)
  • UF +11 spots (somewhere unranked to 16th)
UK loses to Texas A&M
  • UK -5 (15th to 20)
  • A&M +11 (somewhere unranked to 22)
Auburn loses to MSU
  • Auburn -12 (9th to 21st)
  • MSU is now 3rd highest votes for unranked teams

I am amazed that they don't have Mississippi State ranked to be honest

The Georgia love is puzzling to say the least. SCUM would look good with that schedule.

Fuckaround time is over for UGA in terms of schedule. Rankings are outdated but the week to week grind from here out is legit:

If they are undefeated headed into the SEC CG then they have earned it more so than Bama imo.

honest question.
of the 5 teams listed in your graphic, who would remove and who would you replace them with?

Georgia and Clemson will each likely end up with a loss somewhere down the line.
so it’s just a guess as to which will have the more acceptable loss.

My issue isn't with those team as the current top four. Right now Bama, UGA, OSU and ND would be in my top four. If playoffs started today, get UGA* off the list and add Clemson. Until they lose again, Washington and B12 winner also should have inside track on UGA, in my opinion.

*In my scenario, UGA should be read as SEC Championship game loser. Just giving the theoretical win to Bama.

The bar to send a non conference champion over a conference champion in the same conference should be very high. The bar to send a non conference champion over a conference champion from another conference should be damn near insurmountable.

other ranked teams losing the same week also affect movement.

4 teams ranked between LSU and 15 also lost.
cushioned our fall.

Auburn plumetted due to now having 2 losses.

Florida should not be ranked ahead of Kentucky.

Mississippi St is as high in the unranked now because a chunk of the unranked teams ahead of them last week are now IN the top 25

True but you can't ignore the pattern. It's been going on for years.

SEC teams play each other and the loser doesn't fall as much as the winner moves up.

Just like the conference wide FCS game before the rivalry game bullshit in November, it just never gets touched by ESPN.

During the game they were saying that Mississippi state was ranked a few weeks ago. So they should be tough competition. Lol. First time I’ve ever seen them use a teams previous ranking as a show of their strength. ‘We thought they were good a week ago’.

i think they’re a fringe top 25 team.
they probably float in and out a couple more times this year.

Standard SEC talking point.

Alabama could beat a team in week 1 that was in the top 10 preseason, that team could go 6-6 and they would still be chalking it up as a top 10 win for Bama even though said team proved to be crap.
