Played Clover Valley today.

Nice layout. Very nice course. Could be in better shape, but it is mid August, and it has been tough on local courses economically.

2nd regular round (I also had 2 scrambles this year)

I normally shoot in the low-mid 90s, 89 today and left at least 4 shots on the course.

I really like the Scotty Cameron Putter I purchased from BuckeyeNation27. Putted fairly well(32 putts), but pulled a couple of makeable putts.

Witnessed my father-in-law get his first ever hole-in-one yesterday.

Best part, he did it in a scramble on a hole that was giving away an $8400 golf cart.

:banger:

*EDIT*

Here's the golf cart he won:

I was sitting around the house yesterday, called my dad for some advice on whether I should play a round or not.

Never pass up a chance to play golf or have sex, not necessarily in that order, he said.

I went out and shot +4 (38), easily the best 9 holes I've ever played. Chipped in for Eagle on a Par 5 and had multiple 1 putts for par.

The course was part of a gated community and the previous owner went belly up and the city I live in purchased the course, so it's now a public course. It still needs work, but should be in great shape to play next year when spring rolls around. It was a tight, challenging course but I was out there by myself and played outta my mind. Played two balls pretty much every hole, but stayed consistent with my play and scoring. No better feeling than to be out on the course. You, the course, the ball, the challenge. I love this game.

Geez, what a cart. Sucker looks like it's ready to do a wheelie just sitting there. Is it street legal? Some of the mfgers have to have electrics, and they put some souped up carts out there to help their mpg ratios....

Got that R-11. Had it fitted like Wood and others suggested, and folks, I'm here to tell you. Just fitting for the launch angle and dispersion (gave me a 2 degree closed) was the ticket. The good ones went better, and the bad ones not so bad. Shot 44-41 yesterday, and 39-42 today (both whites). I'm a 13, so was at or below handicap both days. No doubles today, two yesterday, so even in trouble, was able to make it up. Coulda been lower both days if some more putts dropped, but some did, so it evens out, I guess. Make it living proof that getting fitted makes a real difference. Golf if 90% mental, so having that boost gave me an edge, at least for this week.

:gobucks3::gobucks4::banger: Got some more distance, hesitate to comment, but between 20-30 yards per drive. More importantly, didn't LOSE 40-50 on the mis-hits or dramatic slices, because didn't have any. I'm still in the same zip code with some of the bigger hitters.

WOW....Went to a 9-hole course in (Litchfeild, *******) 4 man scramble $35 a man. Play 18, same 9 twice.....YA! Pays 1st-3rd. 20 teams 80ish people. Ends up this SHIT ASS course only has enough carts for half the people. WTF am I paying for ??? 1 cart per team. We give them hell (driving 45 mins to this SHIT HOLE) get free beers. So I've never been to this PO'DUNK course in my life. First hole, crush my drive into the woods (started on hole #7) ended up paring that hole. Next hole was the par 3 closest to the pin. Also you could bet up to $20 bucks. (on the green, double your money. inside the ring (3ft circle) triple you money. i bet $5. hit a 7 iron "185" per the sheet, 2 1/2 feet behind the hole. Took the 4th person to sink the birdie. I suck at putting, it was also downhill. Then for the next 5 holes I went on a fucking rampage. 300-335 yd drives. people were amazed, as was I. Im not a big bragger, but i was fucking murdering the ball. Hole #3 was the longest drive hole. We were the 2nd to last group to go, i beat him by 65-70 yards. FELT GREAT. Finished -11 winning 1st. 2nd was -9. we had 1 eagle, no bogeys....great day. at the end, owner announced my name 3 times in a row!!!! (longest drive, closest to the pin, and low score.) won $115 bucks, got drunk and had a fucking blast!!!! Oh and got shit all day for the tOSU shirt i was wearing.....FUCK BLUE!!!!!

Really was THE best golf outing I've ever been a part of. Had so much fun and I am proud of myself :)

Go Buckeyes!!!!

Just got back from Dick's, took in my current driver and tried it on the launch monitor to compare it to an R11 and a Callaway Razr.

Anyhow, the salesman said that starting today, they will give you an extra $100 towards any trade-in to put toward a new driver. He stated that Taylormade was never a part of this deal but they now are, even towards an R11.
