next spring would ideal, time to plan and weather is just about shot.

BP should make it interesting. Have some raffles and prizes and we could buy tickets and donate. They could still make some $$$ I went to one 144 golfers, hauled in 6500. Now would be on a smaller scale of course.

Just booked a tee time for Arrowhead for Thursday. Looks spectacular, should be fun as long as I can avoid the bears.

Just got back from my round. Great track. I hit some of the best shots I've ever hit, but posted an ugly score thanks to high winds. I played as part of a threesome, and the wind absolutely destroyed us on a few of the greens. Given a long uphill putt, we would watch I roll within six feet of the cup, only for the wind to catch it an push a ball that normally would've stayed up right back down thru the bottom of the green and off. On one of those I did manage to kill the ball on my first putt and leave it eight feet above the hole. My second putt had me tapping the ball quite literally as softly as one possibly could, but the wind and the slope caused it to get enough pace to skip over the cup and roll off the bottom of the green. All I could do was laugh. At times it was like trying to play in tropical storm winds.

The par-3 13th was my favorite. It may have been the most gorgeous hole I will ever play in my life. Here's the best photo of it I could find on Google, but it doesn't quite do it justice:

Also, an interesting story... There was a pair of octogenarian ladies that were playing behind my group all day. We were playing at a pace that was more than reasonable, but they were on our tails the whole time. At one point after the wind really fucked us all up again on one of the greens, we turned back and asked them how they were able to get thru all the greens so much faster than us. They replied, "I guess it's just skill." That pissed me off, because you wouldn't even hear a pro say something that fucking cocky on a serious course like this and under those conditions. Come to find out, they were playing every hole until they reached the green, and then picked up their balls and moved on. I guess it's easy to be skilled at golf when your target is measured in square yards.

Went to the course yesterday. Placed my bag at the bag drop area and went in to pay and buy some golf balls. Came back out after about ten minutes and noticed that some of my clubs were sticking up.....kinda like when I don't put the clubs all the way down in the slots after hitting a shot. Immediately I knew that something wasn't right. I did an inventory of the clubs: driver?..check; fairway wood?...check; putter?...putter?... [censored]! Apparently someone helped themselves to my putter. I was livid. There are few things I hate more than a thief. :mad1: I wish a lifetime of the yips and shanks on the prick that stole my putter.

On Kiawah Island for the week and the courses here look amazing. First real vacation in two years. The 2012 PGA is here. Unfortunately with the current family fiscal situation, the courses are to rich for my blood. I may try Patriots Point in Charleston though, the price is much more palatable.

Agreed. I left behind a nice wedge during a round this past Monday for the first time in my life, and was pleasantly surprised it had been turned in to the pro shop when I called them on friday. It's good to be a lefty sometimes. Less likely to have your clubs stolen and more likely to have lost clubs returned.

weather is going to be nice tomorrow. heading into work early and hoping to get out in time to hit the course by 1. shot my best round of the year last week so I'm hoping to keep it going.

Matt, sorry about your putter. That sucks. Also, why would someone just go for the putter. Was it a Scotty or something?

Thanks, man. I have no idea. It wasn't anything special. An Odyssey XG-7 with a Super Stroke grip. Maybe it was the first thing he could grab, maybe he needed a putter, who knows

BTW, my wife thinks this is a ploy to justify buying a new putter.

This will definitely be my next putter:

A center-shafted Bettinardi BB-53.

Nice Putter, I have had a couple clubs stolen in the past (including my last Scotty) I have made it a habit to go to Golf Galaxy and fish through the used headcover bin for a shitty brand headcover that will fit my club and disquise it. I now have a Dunlop cover on my Scotty and and Tommy Armour headcover on my driver just so they don't attract any attention.

I also was able to get out yesterday. First time since late October, I had already put my clubs in storage. With that said I wasnt expecting much. I shot 37 on the front and was only +2 after 13. And then I managed to go bogey, bogey, double, bogey, bogey. I just got bad break after bad break on the last 5 holes. Ended up shooting 80. Given the conditions and time of year I am happy, however I really thought I was going to have the lowest round of the year. 5 pars 1 birdie and 2 bogeys(both from 3 putts!!) on the front.
