There are two coaches who have done that over a consistent basis in 20 yrs. One of them is at Alabama and isn’t leaving unless to retire and the other one used to coach for us and is on the sidelines at Fox noon kick off (and for all the winning, don’t think we want him as our coach for various reasons). It’s not like elite coaches are growing on trees.

He’s not Saban since there’s only one Lord of Hell, but still think Day could be Kirby Smart in time. Shit Kirby was losing like this all the time until 2021 happened, and even then he doesn’t get over that hump if Jamo doesn’t tear his ACL.

There are only a few head coaches who wouldn't leave their job if Ohio State offered them the same job. The rest are all real options.

Exactly. I think people are forgetting what people were saying about Smart and even Dabo before their championships. They were habitual bridesmaids for years until they finally broke through and now they are “great”. Memories really are short lol

seems like a lot of excuse making for one guy who has no track record to balance out all the goodwill

It wasn't just a QB issue. It was a QB issue, a special teams issue, and a defensive issue. If all you saw was the QB, we're done here.

Ryan Day is responsible for all aspects of the team. Offense, defense, and special teams - OSU lost all three.

Just because the QB was chosen by the coach over the other team's QB, developed by the same HC and supported by everything this HC does...doesn't mean it;s the HC's fault he lost today.

I mean if the man can't win the CJ Stroud how can he be expected to win with a mere human like McCord?

Doesn’t mean they are better than Day. With him we know we are winning every game except maybe the last one. Can we really guarantee the same results with another coach? Any other coach I guarantee we have 1-2 losses by Michigan with this QB.

Doesn't mean they're worse, either, and you can't possibly make any such guarantee.

You're content to blow out teams with lesser talent and "aw shucks" losing the games that really matter. I'd rather take a chance than be content with that, but maybe it's just me.

Yeah a lot of the same people who are screaming fire day were also predicting us to be 9-3 or worse after the ND game
