THE GAME, tOSU at tCun, Sat. 11/25, 12pm ET, FOX

and I keep giving an easy answer

I don't have a comprehensive list of guys who can take over. Don't need to. Isn't my job. The empty suit AD should have one.

TCU found a guy who can overcome the insurmountable genius of Jim Harbaugh. An OSU AD who's actually engaged and gives a shit should be able to outdo his TCU counterpart at the very least.

There are maybe 4-5 guys who wouldn't come here.

every coach dealt with COVID...time to let it go

The next breakthrough this clown has will involve his finger and toilet paper. He's a loser born and bred.

I'm just stating why I have some belief he'll get it done eventually. What's the point of posing questions if you just want to talk about how big of a clown he is?

And not every coach dealt with B1G covid protocols, pushed for the season, and led their team to the playoffs while missing chunks of the roster weekly. That's says a lot about a coach's desire, leadership, and faith in his team.

What is the name of the human you want to replace Ryan Day.

I mean, I'm good with it if there is a plan.

If my profession was that of athletic director I'd have a list.

Seeing that it isn't I'll go with "the logical fallacy that I must have a name to be pilloried by the true believers before I can criticize the current faithful" isn't actually an argument at all.

I can tell a flight sucks without being able to fly the plane or tell you the roster of backup pilots.

Did you know who Hafley was before you criticized the 2018 defense?

Exactly. I never knew that 10+ win seasons and top 5 finishes were such a bad thing. Like I want to get over the hump just as much as any of you, but things can get a lot worse. We can be USC, Florida/Florida St, Miami, or (shock) even Michigan from the past decade. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, especially since none of y’all’s candidates will guarantee top 5 recruiting classes every year. Even though I’m defending him in this context, I want Ryan Day to be better too. I’m just not willing to throw an objectively top 5 CFB coach (yes, I know that hurts for some to swallow), for a literal hope of doing better.

I don't chalk that up to hope.

It's more fanboy nonsense imo.

Need more than 5 years to be sure do we? Ok. Duly noted.

And I’d respond that you are more unrealistic than I if you don’t think Day has had us on the doorstep.

Day can still win one every 8.5 years (Tress and Urbans combined average). You contend that because he didn’t in 5 he can’t. I’d retort that the same was said of Kirby (current King of coaching). after 5 years. And that Saban (GOAT) didn’t win one until year 9 (year 4 with LSU). I don’t expect that Day matches either of those guys, but think he can get it done. If 2002 didn’t happen until 2009ish, are we canning Tress for only beating mediocre Mich teams outside 2006 in which we followed it up being embarrassed?

Day’s going to be back next year so I’ll have hope. If you want to focus on the post-Day world from today on, go ahead.

Top 5 recruiting classes are the benchmark now?

Wait a minute Day beats TCUN and it won’t mean anything? If that’s the case then why the F are people wanting him gone if it won’t mean anything

If you're going to quote, use the actual quote. I didn't say it doesn't mean anything. It just just doesn't matter as far as Day resurrecting himself as elite coach that is capable of winning championships. Ttun is likely to have several losses by the time The Game rolls around next year. It will be like beating up on one of Rich Rods teams. Critical yes, because if you lose that one it's disaster. But people critical of Day won't be moved by beating a 4-6 loss ttun team. That's what I meant.

Winning is still important because if he loses that kind of game, then it becomes a really big deal. But feasting on a gutted ttun team won't improve his reputation.

And you know that.
