THE GAME, tOSU at tCun, Sat. 11/25, 12pm ET, FOX

This is Ohio State. We are the biggest brand in college football. A chimpanzee could recruit the talent to finish top 12.
Eh I don’t know about that . Our brand will always get us top 15-20 recruiting classes. But those dont win games/championships. You need top recruiters to get top five classes and that comes with stability and constant winning, which Ryan day does regardless of how everyone feels now. I just want NCs. We beat Michigan for 20 yrs and have two nattys to show for it. Don’t get me wrong I HATE losing to them and would love to end every season 12 (13)-0 but it’s not realistic every year or a reality in this cfb landscape. Parity is great right now. We just need to be in the conversation for championship and anything can happen. Yes the game has changed. I just think people neeed to realize it has.

A lot of good stuff in here but, personally, I think what's missing is that Day and the program don't truly believe they can beat SCUM anymore. Yeah they didn't play a clean game but I can point to many games in the past where OSU has played like ass and still came away with the victory against them. In 2016 the team mostly played like hot garbage for 3 quarters until SCUM folded. Same goes for 2017. SCUM would always play their asses off until they made brutal backbreaking mistakes that would eventually cost them the game because it felt like they never believed they could win. Shit take a look at how the Iron Bowl has played out the last few years. Barn should've won 2 of the last 3 if not for some absolutely dumb ass mistakes.

That's why the sign stealing scandal kind of sucks as much as it does. In my opinion it kind of wrongfully robbed one team of its belief in itself. Yeah we know they (probably) weren't cheating this time but the losses still happened and I assume they were still traumatizing the OSU program as a whole.

I dunno, no coach is perfect but it feels like the biggest flaw with Day right now is he's letting those SCUM losses completely consume him in a bad way. Almost like a form of PTSD or something. Which I get but at some point to gotta shake those demons.

Also if anyone wants to know, I used to post as @Systems_id but I lost my password after I changed it and I don't have access to my old ass OSU email that account is tied to. Happy to be back here again!

Not at all. I believe Day can lead us to success in the Game and we can win a NC under him.

I guess my only question(s) are; other than hope, what makes you feel that way? It's been 5 years now.

I don't have the numbers but how many guys do more after year 5 than before that? (I know there have been a few)

Personally, as I have been very clear about, I don't buy it. Consider me Dennis Green. He is who I think he is and that is an elite OC.

We need better.

could google this but someone probably knows right off--percentage of OH guys on the roster?
I don’t think that has anything to do with it. We were beating them with out of state kids all through the Urban yrs. Last two years were defense, but this year they just beat us cuz our QB is not that good and made crucial mistakes. I’m just accepting the truth lol. Coaching wasn’t perfect, but you can’t win with bad QB play.

Totally agree here.

At this point it’s a mental road block more than a physical one.

Luckily they lose a ton next year and I think they’ll get hit pretty heavy too by the NCAA. That seriously might be what we need to turn it around sadly.

Oh how the mighty have fallen… we went from winning this game was a foregone conclusion to “is Ryan Day the right guy” in a blink of the eye.

I get 5 years seems like it should be enough time for evaluation but....Look at those 5 years: Covid, transfer portal, NIL. I feel like another 1-2 years before i want to start pounding on the eject button.

He literally does not lose unless you are a top 5 team. That’s what gives me hope. He only loses to the best. Every other coach we’ve had has lost to an unranked team by this time. I don’t see that happening under Day.

All I hear there is "excuse...excuse..excuse.."

It's time to wake the fuck up and let COVID go.

This guy can't get it done against anyone in his weight class. Seems like an obvious decision point to me.

Those who want to rock out to wins over Indiana and those expect more.
