The Big Ten Needs to Get Their Act Together

Now watch Sparty go 11-1 and get into the playoffs

Only if the best team in one of the other 4 "power conferences" has 2 (or more) losses. Right now I can't see a one loss B1G team bumping out a one loss SEC (Alabama), PAC12 (Oregon), Big XII (Oklahoma), ACC (Free Shoes), or even ND. However, this is only after 2 games; and needless to say, there is a whole lot more football to be played and anything can happen.

I was worried about the possibility of what might happen this weekend and Wiscy losing to LSU. As far as the Big, this season is lost. Perception will kill any chance the Big Ten winner will have of making the Playoff. So, you go and win your Bowl game as a start for next year. Lots for us still to play for. But, it's gonna be a wild Big Ten season.

it's very hard to go undefeated and history shows us that losing early isn't nearly as punishing as losing late.

I actually didn't see that MSU loss as a particularly bad one--they hung with Oregon well into the second half, at Autzen which everyone loves to claim is one of the most difficult places to play on the road.

OSU's loss proved what a lot of us already knew--this team isn't ready for the playoffs. Few teams breaking in 4 new offensive linemen and a new QB will be. Oh well.

The fact that Michigan lost wasn't shocking (ND was the ranked team of the two, the game was in South Bend, etc.), but it's how they lost that was a black eye. That ND defense, with the suspensions and all, shouldn't be able to hold a 5th year senior QB and a 5 star RB to zero points. That was embarrassing.

I don't think the MSU was really that bad. I think that this Oregon football team could be the real deal and besides, when the floodgates open against Oregon it can get really ugly very quick. I think Sparty can hang with anyone, they manhandled the Ducks for about a quarter and a half, they just lost their composure there after those big plays in the third quarter. That being said Michigan is just an embarrassment and Wisky will be good, no shame in losing to LSU. When Braxton went down I think that pretty much doomed this season from being anything special. As far as the rest of the B1G goes though yes, not too much out their to get excited about.
Forgot about Nebraska. Not expecting too much from them either after the McNeese St game.

At this point I think they'd send 2 SEC teams over a B1G champ. We've already seen that they'll do this with 2 teams... if the "3rd" place SEC team has a competitive record with the PAC, ACC, B12, and B10 champs... they'll go.
