The 2020 College Football Season

As much as i'm conflicted about the B1G straight up shutting everything down. The SEC/Big 12/ACC "We ArE pLaYiNg No MaTtEr WhAt" approach might actually be worse. They are essentially banking on getting through everything with minimal to no instances, which is VERY wishful thinking at this point. I'd still be surprised if toe actually meets leather in 2020 for anyone but they seem determined to ride the sinking ship as long as they can.

No shit. A bunch of idiots in Napoleon can’t even have a Name That Tune night without causing 60+ infections, tell me that with the 77 teams that remain in play we won’t see some kind of outbreak. Take it to the bank.

Mods can move this, but what happens to BTN? No fall sports, I’m guessing that means no practice for b-ball either and a possible scrub on that season too. I don’t think sponsors are going to buy time for three hundred re-runs of Classics. Big ten could lose the goose that laid some significant eggs.

It will be interesting to see if the B10 can hold together. Who knows? It could be the B8 next fall.

“You aren’t our dad you can’t tell us what to do”......goes right back to having Texas be their daddy
Because my wife has been watching Hamilton on repeat:

B1G: So ready to leave

Nebraska: It won't make us grieve

B1G: I bet you were quite a farmer

Nebraska: If it's corn, you do perceive

B1G: Yeah. Well, someone oughta remind you

Nebraska: What?

B1G: You're nothing without Texas behind you

Texas: Nebraska!

B1G: Daddy's calling!

If like 2 conferences are able to actually play a complete season whoever wins the “title”, when they surely boast about it, is going to look a lot like Toronto Maple Leafs fans who love bragging about titles won when the NHL had 6 teams

Dabo is already claiming it doesn't

I guess he kind of has to. Not like he can say “yea this year really isn’t going to mean too much historically if we can actually play”

It might mean something to the players. Which I get. But this season is long lost when it comes to value in the grand scheme.

SEC Stadiums at 50% capacity smack dab in the middle of the current global epicenter of the pandemic.
