Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

I kinda get it. Herman was basically a dead man walking who was already dropping recruits left and right because everyone knew he was on such thin ice.

And Sarkisian seems to be a decent recruiter... he consistently had Washington in the 20s nationally and he quickly brought in the #2 class in the country at USC in his one-ish year there before being fired

And he’s supposed to be a QB guru.

This feels like he was brought in because they are desperate to turn around recruiting, and very specifically they are desperate not to lose Quinn Ewers out of their back yard.

Here’s hoping Sarkisian can’t overcome the comfort and relationships that Ohio State has already established. That’s almost certainly going to be one of the top things he’s focusing on in the next twelve months.

But as I said in my initial take, in a job where managing difficult personalities—constantly meddling boosters and Texas HS coaches—hiring someone with well known personal issues, specifically drug and alcohol abuse, might not lead to the results you are hoping for.

But desperate times call for desperate measures, clearly.

The Mack Brown curse continues.

I heard a most interesting stat today.

How many double digit win seasons does the University of Texas have total all time? 24
Outside of the Mack Brown years - how many seasons does the University of Texas have at least 10 wins in....HISTORICALLY?

Answer: 15

Carry the one....

Mack Brown has accounted for almost 40% of the double digit wins all time - in 119 years of football.

During the interview Sark was asked to prove he still had his coin - so it's not like parents need to worry about who they are entrusting their children to.

Texas border still wide open for Ryan Day.

Texas is a historically MASSIVELY overrated program. Take away a back-to-back run with VY and Colt McCoy and they're a second-tier program over the last 45+ years.

They're burnt orange ttun with an actual consensus NC.

Yeah, hiring a known drunk for a job that is 90% managing out of control boosters and needy HS coaches/programs feels like a bad move...

From tittybar tom to AA cutty sark.
