Good to see sharly has learned a bit of perspective. While a few voices of reason emerge, the overwhelming consensus appears to be that first year expectations for Cutty Sark are to beat Okie and win the B12.

I'm impressed by how many have top 5 or top 3 recruiting class as an expectation. Guess they really want to be tsun of the south, crooting stars is what really matters.

Just sayin': Some colleges would give their head coach a new long term contact if they consistently finished in the AP Top 25 every year; but not at Texas. That's just the state of big time college football these days.

I have friends trying to give me shit about the Buckeye loss and trying to convince themselves that Sark’s NC with Bama will somehow benefit UT. I had to remind them that Bamas rings didn’t help with Pruitt, McElwain, Kiffin, Smart, Gattis or Locksley...
Sark has an uphill climb in the Big 12 and an unrealistic fan base that expects an NC within 3yrs and for all of the top TX talent to go to Austin

Sark created some unrealistic expectations for himself last night.

Its going to be kind of funny when hes out in 3/4 years for failing to live up to said unrealistic expectation.

All in all this is no more than a lateral move. I doubt hes any better or any worse than Herman was.

That's pretty much going to be each and every UT HC. Unrealistic expectations for a program that doesn't historically win big games.
And this hire is an example of a hire to create "different problems". Sark is in no way much different than Herman, but its a way for the admin to show the fans that they're willing to make a change. But I doubt he produces more wins than Herman, and they'll be back to hiring another HC by 2025
