I never knew that C.R. Roberts was basically Sam Bam Cunningham 14 years before USC dominated Bear’s team in Tuscaloosa.
Followed shortly by Kentucky, the Baron, and the aptly named Cotton Nash, getting their ass handed to them by Nevil Shed and Dave Lattin as the Texas Western Miners beat the favored Wildcats in the 1966 NCAA final. A good friend of mine was a student at UK in 1962 and went to the Friday night pep rally as the Cats opened their practice season. Rupp stood on the K in the middle of the old field house and said something akin to the K standing for the KKK and promising that no back player would ever represent the school.

I saw they hired Vince Young as some “assistant to the Athletic Director.”

He was fired by the school in 2019 for poor performance. *shrug*

Yeah, he was essentially given a six figure job to be the equivalent of a casino greeter. Personally, I think they did it with the promise that he could keep the job long enough to get out of debt if he would give UT censor power over any autobiography that he might "write" in the future.

Yeah, here's a link to the ESPN article (below). He made $100K during his 1st stint there as a career development officer in the school's Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. This time he is working for the Athletic Department. They aren't yet reporting what his new salary is; however, being a state university it is sure to be public knowledge soon.

Re: Vince Young (unemployed)

He's employed again....:roll1:

Vince Young returns to Texas Longhorns as special assistant in athletic department

Texas has rehired former Longhorns quarterback Vince Young as a special assistant in the athletic department, bringing the College Football Hall of Famer back to the program after he was fired in 2019.

He returns as the program is trying to build momentum behind new football head coach Steve Sarkisian.
.
.
.
After Young's NFL career ended and he filed for bankruptcy, he returned to Texas in a full-time, $100,000-a-year job as a career development officer in the school's Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. The job later became part time, and Young was eventually dismissed for poor performance and often being absent from work or not in touch with his supervisors.

Terms of Young's new job and salary in the athletic department were not immediately disclosed. Athletic director Chris Del Conte did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
