TE Louis Irizarry (official thread)

He's going to hurt his chances to play at the next level by playing at a lower level.
If you're good, the NFL will find you - no matter where you play. Steve McNair went to a I-AA school. Chaun Thompson got drafted out of D-II (whether he's actually good or not is a different story). There Hugh Douglas played for Central State - an NAIA program!

Not really. NFL folks already know who he is (albeit in a negative light so far), so he'll be on their radar more than had he gone straight to YSU out of high school. If he gets his shit together and tears it up at YSU, he'll get seriously looked at and could even still be a decent draft pick.

His best bet was to leave that area.

Yea, he really showed that when given the chance. Two MAJOR mistakes
in a year. It's not like he was busted as an underage drinker.

Throw in the fact that he caught balls like Rickey Dudley (as a Raider), and you've got failure.

If his drops are behind them, then he should be very productive for YSU. And,
if he approaches all the hype, then the NFL will find him, even at Stambaugh Stadium.

He'll also be around his parents and you'd have to think they will be there every step of the way to make sure he stays out of trouble.

I think a player of his abilities could really spike a rise in intetest in the YSU program. They've gone flat since Tressel left . This could really help the program if he indeed is allowed to play, which I certainly hope he is.
