TE Louis Irizarry (official thread)

The times have changed at OSU, its time to get rid of the kids who cant stay out of trouble, its time to "weed" them out so to speak, OSU has been getting alot of negative press about all the arrests and the constant Clarett cloud hanging over the program.

I say good job AD and Coach T.

I think AG might have gone ahead and and terminated LI and IG so that it wouldn't look like he was waiting to see if they might be found not guilty before he made his decision.

Also, the offense of robbery carries a PRESUMPTION of prison time, and the minimun on an F2 is two years. So, AG's decision is probably kinda moot, unless they'd go to prison and then come back to the team. That doesn't sound too likely though.

Irizarry

Seems that he was arrested for being on campus after being barred.

I would imagine that it is a "tresspassing" violation.

I just had a thought, with the installation of the "grunt and punt" offense at OSU. I would think that Tress - Passing would be an oxymoron at Ohio State and therefore not a chargable offense?

I didn't even know he was out of jail yet.

Suspended OSU Player Arrested Again

Irizarry Charged With Trespassing

UPDATED: 12:39 PM EDT June 7, 2004

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A suspended Ohio State football player charged in a campus robbery was arrested Monday morning and charged with trespassing.

Ohio State University police arrested tight end Louis Irizarry (pictured, left). An officer pulled over his vehicle and a records check showed he had been banned from campus unless he got special permission from the university.

Irizarry, 19, is scheduled to be arraigned on criminal trespass charges on Tuesday.

NewsChannel 4 reported that both Irizzary and running back Ira Guilford are scheduled for arraignment Monday on robbery charges filed after a fellow student accused them in May of jumping him and stealing his wallet.

Coach Jim Tressel suspended both players indefinitely after their arrests. NewsChannel 4 reported that Athletic Director Andy Geiger said that both players likely would not return to the team.
