We try to be very humble as fans rather than "we are going to win by 30." We like to talk football, not implode a board. We see both sides of the field an what your team has to what ours has. I as well as many other Arkansas posters like your attitude as well.

I'm glad to hear you say this. Because the one thing nobody can simulate in Pryor is his speed. Even after 3 years as a starter, defenders continually take bad angles because they underestimate it.

With respect to blitz, the Buckeyes actually do it very infrequently. Mostly because we haven't had to; teams have typically used a dink-and-dunk pass game against us wherein blitzes would be counterproductive. The other side of that coin is that we can give up a fair amount of yardage on 5-to-7 yard passes, right up until we intercept the ball.

Our pass defense has been really good even while we get almost no sacks. Kind of a head-scratcher, but there it is.

Ohio State will run several different blitz packages, but if they are able to generate pressure with 4, that's what they will rely on for the most part. Ohio State also drops linemen into coverage with regularity - including tackles. I figure with a polished QB like RM, Ohio State will try to mix things up to try and keep him guessing as much as possible - putting a man in a lane which RM maybe isn't expecting.

Welcome to the board.

First, there are a couple of threads already addressing these questions and others like them. Don't be surprised is this thread get's merged into one of them.

Second, to answer your questions:

1) Yes, there are some designed runs that TP has. However, he is most productive when a play breaks down and he takes off. He is not as strong as Cam but he is faster.

2) Our DL is the strength of our Defense which is ranked #2 in the nation. This will be the key match up to the game. If your OL cannot contain our DL and pick up our blitz packages, it is going to obviously limit Mallets effectiveness. If your OL can give RM time to throw, then it will go down to the wire and is anybody's game.

3) We have had three major injuries to our secondary which has required young, but talented guys to step up. We might be getting one guy back and so that will help out a bit.

4) We have two very good Kick return guys. I'm hoping to not see much of them though. :)

Not really much of a head scratcher. 3 step drops and 1-2 yard gains kind of explains it. They don't hold on to the ball long enough to get sacks.

Mitchell runs a 4.5 so he isn't terribly slow.

Four (4) - see below.

Marshall (1): blocked FG for TD
Miami (2): KO return and punt return, both for TD
Ohio (0): Yay!!!!!
EMU (0): Yay!!!!
Illinois (0): Yay!!!!
Wisconsin (1): KO return for TD
Purdue (0): Purdue didn't score at all. Figure this one out yourself.
Against Iowa, Minnesota, Penn State and Michigan we seemed to have figured something out. No return TDs against us.

FOR the Buckeyes (special teams only)
Minnesota (1): blocked punt for TD
Michigan (1): KO return for TD

Later in the season our performance improved.

Remember, too, that we kick off a whole lot more than our opponents do.
