that was true at the beginning of the year and can be depending on the opponent, but since the vast improvement of knile davis at RB over the course of the season we see a lot more drives with the TE(s) in on every down now.Buckeye86;1824298; said:Thanks for the great response.
based on this, I am assuming that Arkansas operates primarily out of these sets, how do you think the Arkansas offensive line can hold up to an outstanding front four, minus any blitzing?
i think the reason for this is twofold. one, our best WR is out and the sophomore replacement doesn't have the experience to sit down at the right spots in zones as well as the junior did, so checking down to run plays is often a better alternative. second, run looks that can pick up a blitz open up the deep ball which said sophomore receiver is more than capable of so as for pressure with the front 4, not really betting on that. LSU and Alabama failed to get pressure with 4.
as for ohio state not blitzing, i see the miami game film as evidence of that. when they did, they dropped a LB/DE into coverage at the same time. it seems to me that tressel values the opportunity for a pick more than the likelihood of a sack due to worries about the deep ball. OSU seems very reluctant to involve the safeties for want of keeping them in pass coverage.
