Re: Spurrier, athletic director Eric Hyman and school president Harris Pastides will consult on the decision to fully reinstate Garcia, according to the newspaper. He must meet several off-field requirements and be cleared by medical professionals supervising his alcohol abuse treatment program. Garcia was suspended in April for alcohol-induced poor behavior at a Southeastern Conference-mandated violence prevention seminar. The incident marked his fifth suspension in five years as a Gamecock. Since the suspension, Garcia has worked toward meeting the requirements to return, including earning a bachelor?s degree in sociology earlier this month.


Apparently this was "strike six". Garcia really must have a severe drinking problem here and needs to get serious about getting treatment.

I wish more coaches would do stuff like this. It is one thing to be critical of a team or organization, but there are way to many "reporters" out there that think they can just go and print what ever they want be it true or not without any repercussions

Word. I have no problem with what Spurrier did. Seems like the people who have the biggest problem with it are journalists.

Funny how that works.

He'll never leave the SEC or Sakerlina.
Doing so would mean he'd leave his recruiting network and his Augusta National Membership. Not in the cards for the OBC.
