Just to let everyone know...

I've lost 40 pounds since October 16th and haven't changed my diet one bit. I still drink like a fish and eat whatever I want, whenever I want.

If you too would like to learn the secrets to my success. Just call 1-800-LOSE-FAT for a free pamphlet and send me 49.95 (regularly 79.95)!

vcash is also accepted...

So how do you explain your gut hanging out under your t-shirt in the BP poker party pics?

Okay, time to get serious. I have managed to put back on the weight I lost a couple of years ago and a couple of bonus pounds. It is the worst time of the year to try and lose weight but I need to do something. I am going to hold myself accountable to everyone here. Feel free to give me lots of red rubies if I start slipping.

The plan is to hit the treadmill every day. I need to get back up to five miles of running every time on it. Right now it is just a mix of running and walking. Also will be cutting back on the food intake. Light breakfast, light lunch, healthy snacks during the day and a reasonable dinner. I will probably add some weight training in as well, but am not sure what specifically at this point. Feel free to give me some good ideas that do not involve nautilus equipment.

11/24/07 - 195 pounds. Ran two miles, walked one mile.

I've been working out 5 days a week for 10 weeks now, and I feel better than I have in a long time. I use my old stair climber and treadmill every day, and add in some Tae-bo (which I absolutely love) daily, and weight training every other day. Keeping up with this schedule through the winter is my main goal at the moment. I always seem to peter out after a while. So, for anyone trying to get in shape, know that I'm right there with you.

I exercise three times a week for about an hour for my cardiac and lungs.
not losing too much weight which I would like to do so I might do more on the other two days.
But I'm with you all too.

I experimented a lot with caloric intake and different foods last year. 2 things struck me - the more fatty the food you eat (i.e. Donatos Pizza, Panara sandwiches) the less benefit of fat loss you get even if you work out a ton. Basically I found that sheer like to like caloric amounts did not return similiar returns. E.g. 4 slices of Donatos not equal to a 6 inch double turkey sub from Subway from a standpoint of energy or getting lean, even though both are similiar in # of calories.

Also, I didn't have 'quality' energy from eating the fatty slop. This is when I was stacking workouts and burning 1500+ calories a day per my heart rate monitor.

Also, try giving up alchohol for lent (or make up a reason if you aren't Catholic). I had the best fat to muscle conversion ever when I did this. Plus, it's funny to see my single friends act like dumbasses downtown during this time when I play designated driver.

I am pretty much sold on weight watchers if you really need to adjust your lifestyle. Although I am not a WW follower, the program completely makes sense. Just about every sensible low fat diet is similiar to WW from what I have read.

Oh, and genetics play a big part too. Some people have to work harder than others....

Been up and down the past few weeks. I let Christmas day and New Year's catch up with me. Started doing more interval training and changed the diet. NO excuses except laziness now that the holidays are over.

1/18/08 - 185 pounds.
