And 2 minutes later, Corso says that TSUN's speed will match up fine against USC. Those comments paired together comprise some of the dumbest things that Corso's ever said, and coming from his mouth those comments have a lot of competition.

...and it was only a week ago that the talking heads started up the "USC is too athletic for Ohio State" mantra.

The problem here is a lack of common opponents that we can really compare player for player directly between tOSU and F, measurables aside. In my eyes, OSU will dominate because "SEC Speed" doesn't help you when WRs are wide open. :bigten:

Herbie's in on it too...

he's lost a LOT of cred with me over the last two weeks...

he didn't even have Rutgers in the top 25 last week...

Maybe he's just annoyed that OSU entered a golden era of contending for national titles just when he left OSU.

Give it up, Herbie. You're looking more and more like an ignorant jackass every minute.

Honestly, I'd like to know at which positions we are lacking this mythical "SEC speed". Any insight would be appreciated, many thanks in advance-NFBuck

Our OL is not very fast, but is quick and strong. This may hurt us if we ask them to block for us 30 yards downfield, a la Orlando Pace versus Iowa. I guess we'll have to make do. :(

I am worried a little about their athletic receivers... We didn't exactly shut down mich's passing game. But I think we'll make up for that by putting Leak on his back and forcing him into mistakes.

That being said, no team in the country can cover our depth at receiver when Troy is spreading the ball around and using that to open up our running game. It all starts at OSU's great offensive line and Troy's ability to buy an extra couple seconds... give ginn, gonzo, robo, hall, etc. that much time and they WILL get open. And if they don't, i seem to remember Troy having an ability to run with the ball fairly well

The biggest difference there is that scUM has an excellent Oline and a very good running game. Florida has neither (Taz excluded). Florida can run but does anyone really think that Tim Tebow will gain more than 20 total yards against our D? What we need to prepare for are the quick hitters to Harvin and the size of the WR's combined with speed. Manningham is and will be the best WR we play/ed this season. Tressel will have us ready.

Kind of hard to be fast when the average size of our o-linemen is 6'7" 316 lbs.

Corso is an asshole. How much more shit is he going to give us? He picked Texas, Iowa, and scUM to beat us. Dumbass.
...and if all goes according to plan, he'll pick the Gators on January 8. Honestly, if he put on a Brutus head, it would send shivers down my spine and I'd begin drinking very heavily.

I think most people are also forgetting, nobody runs fast on their back.

Our road graders should make some nice holes in that dline and vice versa. Who's going to block Pitcock and Patterson? Release the hounds!

There isn't a football coach in the country that can prepare his team to play in a big game after a big layoff better than Coach Tress. I think he'll have our boys "real fast" and ready to play on 1/8/07. Peace.

Dubs has hit the proverbial nail on the head. JT has been there, done that. I guarantee that all championship game scenarios have been planned for. When it comes to coaching, I like our chances.
