The fans contepmt of the Buckeyes and the shoe has carried over to Barkley. We need to knock on his ass many times.

"I don't think that will make a difference," Barkley said of the Columbus crowd. "The atmosphere will be nuts.
I probably don't even know how it will be. That won't faze me."...

I think both coaches are going to be very conservative during the game. Carroll I don't think is going to take to many risks with Barkley and just wait for Ohio State to shoot itself in the foot.

I'm not really impressed with either offense. Barkley I think will make a couple mistakes and I don't think we'll be able to run the ball effectively outside of Pryor. I see a ball control, field position type of game where we get the edge with kicking.

We really need to get after Barkley early. He might have been going against one of the best defenses in CFB for the past 6 months, but I bet they haven't hit him. One big hit from the Bullets and he might be singing a different tune.

do we? it seems to me that our priority should be stopping the run. if we can barkley will never get a chance. going after barkley could be the final nail.

usc didn't perform well in the first quarter last week and it's because their run game was not established yet. as i read on the-ozone earlier, once that is established, the dbacks start biting on play action and barkley gets wide open short passes.

CPC is expecting us to go after barkley, what if we leave him alone at first and concentrate on stuffing the run? if the run is stopped, THEN we hit barkley, which will rattle him hopefully resulting in bad decision making.

also, pointed out in the article every team that has beat usc in the past 3 years has done so by stopping their run. this is the key to the game. forget barkley, he's a game manager, not a playmaker, go after the run.

furthermore, this could actually get the crowd more into the game. the 105,000 fans are going to be screaming for the first 30 minutes no matter what. if we start hitting barkley in the second quarter it'll just help to keep the crowd going more consistantly.
